VIDEO: Suspect ID'd in Winthrop guns theft


WINTHROP — Police recovered all 34 guns and the ammunition stolen early Saturday from Audette’s Hardware store, and have identified a suspect in the theft.

Guns recovered from a burglary on Saturday are displayed at the Winthrop Police Department on Tuesday. Police said they recovered all 34 guns stolen as well as the ammunition from the rooftop break-in at Audette's Hardware store in Winthrop.

Winthrop police summonsed Woodley on unrelated burglary and theft charges connected to an incident that occurred about a week earlier, Young said at a news conference Tuesday morning at the police department.

Woodley remains free.

I bought my first gun at 15 years old, alone, with not an adult in sight, except the proprietor, at the Western Auto hardware store in Winthrop ME, in 1964!... (Stevens, .22 bolt action,tube feed repeater, for about $24.95)
