Virgin MilSurp Holster

From Onkel Juergen via 40Caliber's trip to Germany. This is what MilSurp is supposed to be. Virgin August 1980 black leather P1 Bundeswehr holster. The leather was so new and stiff, it took 5 minutes to worm the pistol in. It even cocked the pistol before I could close the holster. It was so tight.....

How tight was it?

It was so tight, I had to take the pistol out of the holster to be able to insert the spare magazine...and that even took a couple of minutes and two hands.

I was hesitant to apply saddle soap to smoothen it, maybe you will do so.

As for carrying the P1, it fits comfortably in my M7 shoulder holster for the M1911. More convenient.

I have a cut down .45 holster that works, but the P1 is really too big/heavy/awkward to be carried on a belt. I tried an IWB holster....but the 5" barrel reached down between my legs, so....

My preferred carry round is the Liberty SD.

IWB works if I keep it off to the side. Supposed to be for a .45, but an inch of barrel still stick out down there. As a consequence, there will be no cross drawing...
