I put 300 rounds of high velocity ammo through my P22 yesterday. I noticed today when I was cleaning the barrel that at the end of the barrel where the threads are, I see what looks to be bare metal. The bare metal is right at the edge of the barrel and no where else. I did not use any type of brush to clean the barrel, just a rod and some .22 patches. I used shooter choice cleaning solution as well. Could I have maybe scraped the coating off the inside of the barrel with the rod? I did not notice much resistance when pushing the patch through the barrel starting at the chamber end. I do work the rod back and forth gently as well as use the one stroke method where you just push the rod entirely though the barrell and start over again.
My hopes are that this is normal break in and not something that I did, ruining the barrel. The gun is brand new.[sad2]
