Picked one of these up today. [smile]

Ordered it yesterday at 3 it was in at 11 today. I've loved and admired the Walther for some time even before getting my license. I plan on using this is my carry gun. Other than obviously reading the manual and practicing with it a ton, is there anything I should know about them from the guys and gals who have them.
Also id like an IWB holster, who has one? Do you like it? What is it? Seems like there are a lot of P99 holsters out there but not many that specify the compact model. Ill post a review to this thread after the weekend, and some gun porn will be added to the March sticky when I can take some pics.
Thanks for any ifo!

I used to carry mine in a Crossbreed supertuck. People like to bash Walthers but I liked that gun a lot. The only reason that I got rid of it was the mag release location.

I kind of like the mag release, the others of shot ive hit it with my middle finger and seems to work just fine. I may have to look into the supertucks, seems to be the only company I can find that makes a quality molded holsster for it.

I liked the mag release a lot, found it very ergonomic. The issue was that all of my other guns had more "traditional" mag releases and transitioning back and forth was messing me up.

Comp-tac makes a very nice line of IWB holsters too. Some very similar to the supertuck.

I have heard anecdotal reports of the .40 version frames cracking but not the 9mm version. (I had the .40 version and I never had any issues with mine.)

Thanks for the good info, I'm going to look into the comptac as well. My only beef at all is I wish both mags had the grip extenders, but I think they did that to offer one which is a hair smaller.

I can't say I've shot both, from what I understand the sw99 is a s &w slide and barrel on a walther frame. Given that, I would assume they are comparable. But I have no experience to back this up.
