What is the worst firearm you have been shot with?

Never been shot with much more than a dart (stupid human dartboard drinking games).

But I know 2 things from this thread...first I'm staying away from shooting plates at Harvard and second my thanks to Bugs100 for his service (unless he wants to tell us he got the mortar shrapnel by accident at Harvard as well [smile])

been shoot may times as a kid by some one on this board lets say his names is B***K[frown]

To name a few when we were younger; fireworks, BBs, Marble from sling shots

and my favorite a Dart from a dartboard!!1[crying]

Hey! I was a great uncle to you growing up... I warned you before I threw those darts..[rofl] Three hit your leg did'nt they? [smile]

Ahhhhh hahhahhahah.. the sling shots in North Carolina was a riot!

Yah, I was a bad kid...[thinking]

Since we have gotten to swapping Harvard stories, anyone ever shoot over at the 7 yrd range? It is more obvious in the winter with snow down but about 1 out of 10 rounds into the berm pop an old round out of the berm it is so chock full 'o lead. They don't come out fast enough to even make it back to the line but they usually fall about midway.

I use to drink in Roxbury with a bunch of old friends. One of them owned a real large dive but worked hard to keep the place decent.

One rainy day there were 5 of us at the far end of his bar talking when a bunch of boozed up roofers walked in.

A few minutes later we heard them arguing about who was the best shot and we started laughing because they were so loaded.

A few minutes later there was a shot and one of them was screaming you shot me.

He had put a beer can on his head and dared his brother to shoot it off.

The brother shot at the can with a 22 Jennings and hit the bottom of the can and his brothers scalp.

The guy was was jumping around with a little blood on his forehead. The bullet had plowed a path between the can and his hair line.

God protects fools and drunks.

What's the normal proper procedure for an outdoor range when it gets too full of lead anyway? Are they supposed to haul away part of the dirt (how do you dispose of that?) and replace it? Or pile up more dirt against the old dirt? The latter is much simpler but there's only so many times you can do that before your 25 yard range becomes less than a 25 yard range.

From what I understand you get someone to haul away the dirt/lead mix for them to remove the lead and build a new berm.

[shocked] I never named any names! Don't forget the dart that stuck in my back, or the 250 rockets in NC

Thank god Bob lived off base we would have gotten him busted down to a private.[devil2]

My worst would be an M110A2 Howitzer (8 inch). Yes, that's a roughly 200 pound projectile (bullet). Yes, it was HE (Jigh Explosive).

I just don't trust New Jersey Army Guard Artillery (especially 2/114 FA) any more. They were WAY short of the Impact Area. Must have been at least somewhere between 2000 to 4000 meters short.

Happened at Fort Drum in the late 1980's.

The good news?

I was in an M113A2 Armored Personnel Carrier. We tucked in and closed the hatches in case they fired another short round.

Two or three weeks back at that range I noticed a number of spent bullets just laying on the ground right in front of the benches. I wondered where they came from.

AK47, Mortar Shrapnel and land mine sharpnel. No matter what you get hit by, if your still breathing afterwards, the pains worth it.

Yikes! Yeah. And you are still breathing now. I hope you received some nice metals for them.

Gee, I always wondered why Dad told my to pray for Naval Artillery if I ever had to call it in.

Ak-47 (full auto) and some kind of rifle that was used sniper-like from Mexico (don't know what kind as it was across the border and I never saw it nor could recognize the report).

Wasn't hit either time.

Friend had a Sterling .22 that would go full auto on a regular basis. cousin had an RG .22 revolver let's just say the safest place to be was in front of it.

Smacked self in face with but end of a pistol gripped shotgun, shooting 12 gauge slugs. Hurt real bad. have a nice scar too. Thanks God didn't lose a tooth! I bet the guys that used the range after me wondered where the hell all the blood came from [shocked]

That made me laugh Bugs.

Both at the range, I once got a 7.62x39 ricochet off of a steel plate to the stomach, left a welt and I had a stomach ache for a few hours. I wasn't shooting, someone else was. Another time I was downrange setting up targets when some idiot had an ND with a 12 guage shotgun.

High school BB gun fight. Got cornered by the bad guys and took a shot to the outer ear. It would have hurt like crazy normally, but it was December, and my ears were cold as hell. Felt like someone drove a nail through my ear.

That's freaky.

I took a ricochet from an AK at the Class 3 range at Harvard as well.

Except I got hit about an inch below my right nut. And it bled like a bastard...

Steel plate on the Class 3 range at harvard. It was a ricochet from an AK (I wasn't firing). Not sure what yahoo decided a steel plate was a smart idea for rifle rounds but the plate has been there for some time and I confirmed that there is no restriction on what one can fire at it. Although now the plate is seriously angled whereas when it first went up, it was much closer to vertical and that is when I got hit. No puncture. I packed up and left. I would have been livid if I had to go to the hospital and risked Watertown pulling my license over a ricochet I didn't even cause. (All hospital visits for "gun shot" wounds are reported to local Oppies.)

Roman Candle.

My friends thought it'd be a great idea to buy a bunch of roman candles and have a "roman candle war"... each of us had about 4 sticks... we lit them... and ran around a concrete dock (at a lake) shooting the fireballs at each other.

Fun? YES [smile]

but you could hear the fireballs make a "tsss" sound as they would singe whatever they hit... whether it be a shirt or pants... or hair... or in my friend's case.. his forehead [wink]

I was shot at twice and both times I was too busy running out of the line of fire to notice what type of firearm they were using.
