What's up with my Para Ord?

About a month ago I purchased a new Para Ord CX745S LDA gun from Dennis over at First Defense Firearms. I love the gun except for one feature. The thumb safety keeps sliding out of the gun. The pin that is part of the safety is so long that it protrudes through to the other side of the gun. Because it sticks out so much I sometimes press down on it when drawing or loading the gun thus causing the safety to slide to the side.

This is very annoying and unnerving considering that the thumb safety slides out when the gun is loaded.

Has anyone had any experience with that particular "feature"? I contacted Para but have not heard back yet. They are probably closed for the holiday.

Did you buy the gun new or was it used? If used, I'm wondering if someone installed a replacement thumb safety that doesn't fit properly.

It was brand new.

Have you contacted Dennis about it?? It might be something as simple as changing out some parts, and with the selection of parts they have there, I would be willing to bet that it can be taken care of right there

NO, I have not, although that's not a bad idea. Maybe I will stop by his shop Saturday on the way back from the Pumpkin Shoot.

Brought my gun back to Dennis who is going to return it to Para for repair. The last two guns I bought had issues and had to be sent back for repairs. The other one was a SW 1911 with a faulty extractor. Either it is just my luck or QA is really starting to slack off.
