Lady Radtekk and I are planning to move out of MA Summer 2019. My youngest daughter graduates HS that year. Her mother still lives in MA so unless something bizarre happens and I end up with sole physical custody, or SHE moves first, I have to wait until child is 18 which will be May 2019. So...

I'm a CT Tech, can work pretty much anywhere there's a hospital close by. Lady Radtekk is a Payroll Specialist, she can work wherever people get paid. We'd like for her to NOT have to work, or PT at most. So our limitations are political, geographic, climate, etc.

Absolute requirement: Con-Carry.
Extremely necessary: Moderate climate, no stupid highs, lows, humidity, weather extremes, etc.
Really really want: Scenic riding, mountains, valleys, NOT flat.
Really want: Enough space to throw up a berm in the backyard. Have the neighbors come by to join in when they hear gunshots.

Absolute dealbreakers: "ICE Enforcement zone" of within 200 miles of ANY border. ANY restrictions (other than the stupid Federal PO bans, etc) on RKBA.
Really really don't want: Hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, 90 degree 90% weather, weather ANY worse than this year in NE. Will NOT live in a city, regardless of the state politics and 2a, TOO MANY libs and too great a chance of "creep".
Really don't want: Flat. Desert.

Most other things are negotiable. Maybe buy, maybe rent. Been in my current rental almost 10 years, much prefer: "Hey, the thing is broke, you need to call somebody..." to: "Hey, I need this fixed, my cc is..." followed by "Baby, not going on vaca, the roof fell off..." Neither of us is particularly religious, don't need any specific "church" close by.

So, suggestions on areas, towns, states? If there was an app that asked REALISTIC questions and gave answers a heads-up would be cool:)

Rather than asking random strangers, why not take a "Con Carry" state map, draw a line 200 miles inland, redline all the deserts and blue cities, overlay it with FEMA flood plain and other natural disasters, and then focus on what little is left to choose from?

If con-carry is an absolute requirement as you indicated, you're limited to the following states with their varying degrees of climate, all of which may or may not meet your other wants wrt climate, mountains, etc. As SKumar suggested, W. Virginia appears to meet most of your criteria.

West Virginia?

The problem with Utopia is that it doesnt actually exist....
Pessimist...

Not sure if that's constitutional carry tho.
Too flat:(
Too far from grandbabies, but I AM Jewish...

Interesting... Snarky answer provides useful advice, never considered "FEMA" idea, others already have been incorporated:)
HIGH on the list!

I mean you seriously have no idea based on your requirements where you want to live ? I don't know whether to laugh or feel sorry for you.

Just kidding,I laughed !
Glad I was able to provide entertainment:)

Excellent list.

Once his climatic requirements get overlayed, that will take care of anything left.

I was going to say RTP, plenty of jobs...but you don't like humidity.

No stupid highs, stupid lows and weather extremes leave out like 95% of the remianing states.

Maybe in between these lines:
