In some of the reloading books it is advised to have the proper seating die for the bullet shape you'd use. There were examples given for SWC bullets and Round Nose bullets.

I'd like to follow that advice but I cannot find Lee SWC seating dies. will the standard lee dies seat a SWC bullet without damaging the nose?

These are the said dies. I assume they should work, but I thought I'd better ask before I buy.

If the Lee dies will not work for SWC lead bullets, what other dies will work that can fit a Lee's reloading press?

Thanks,

The dies is the same. You change out the seater plug to correspond to the bullet type. Usually the die manufacturer gives you both plugs. RCBS did at one time and I believe they still do.

Thanks!

According to Lee the seater plug should be close to universal, but a "custom"
one will cost only $12.

"PISTOL AND RIFLE: Bullet Seating Plug

The bullet seater plug that comes with the die set is as close to generic as we can make it. If you find that the bullet seater plug deforms the nose of the bullet you are trying to seat, we can make a custom bullet seater plug to fit your bullet.

We need:

1. Payment of $12.00 ($8.00 + $4.00 processing fee)
2. 1 sample bullet"

I will try the factory set and see how it works for me.
