Something on the small side.
Conceal to deep conceal.
I know nothing about revolvers besides I have a few old ones.
Thanks

In all seriousness, if you're absolutely set on a revolver for a *GIRL-GUN*, the Ruger SP101 in .38, not .357 is a good call. If she's used to handling 2.25 inches, it's perfect to slip into a kydex holster secured in her purse. She'd probably be way more confident shooting a big heavy steel SP101 than something like a lady-smith.

My wife loves hers. It's the .357 variant.

I like her S&W 351PD flame thrower.

You guys enjoy the fireballs and flashbangs. I'm more of a fan of powder efficiency. The .357 needs a fairly long barrel to dump all that powder into kinetic energy and through a little barrel, it's still more powerful than a .38 yes, but isn't a third of the energy "wasted" in that fireball that could have otherwise been sent to propel the bullet faster?

I'd take a look at this

Bobbed hammer is good for snag free draw, but you have the option of either the front tritium sight and groove rear or using the TORO system for an optic. 6 shots of .32 is more than the 5 of .357 and the .32 S&W Long and H&R Mag have very little recoil, but pack much more punch than .22

It's also under $400.

Does Taurus make good shit now? Are they the Hyundai of the gun world where they used to come out with stuff that literally fell apart but as of recent years have redeemed themselves?

Current revolver production by the major companies (Charter Arms excluded) is pretty much equal now. Ruger's work, the LCR is their best revolver atm, but look like shit and have razor sharp burrs all over the window on the frame, Taurus revolvers look great with the stainless finish, the triggers can be a bit stiff tho nothing near as h3avy as a stock SP101. Smith I don't personally own, but have seen their customer service is a joke and their J frames are bottom tier quality. The larger frame revolvers (L and N) are probably better, but at a grand a pop I don't have the courage to take the chance.

TL;DR- Taurus is my first choice for new production revolvers currently and if they don't make something I want, Ruger is second. Smith is last.

Dang. Clown world for real. Taurus > Ruger > S&W...

K frame S&W is still fairly small while being vastly more pleasant to shoot than a J frame.

Can’t comment on current build quality but my pre-Hillary hole stainless 38 from the ‘90s is just dandy and a joy to shoot if you can find one.

[slap]

Take her to a gunshop and let HER handle a few and see what feels good in her hands.
Yup, this.

The missus thought a Single Six was okay until I bought it, then the barrel was too heavy. So I bought a Wrangler and the grip was too big. Then I found a Bearcat and it was just right. She loves it--smaller grip than the bigger Rugers, and a 4" barrel. I like 'em, too.

I recently discovered the H&R 732 (.32 S&W Long) and 929 (.22 LR). Nice and small (well, the 2.5" are), good reputation for quality despite their very plain looks, cheap, and the .32 has better ballistics than .22 magnum with low recoil. Guns produced after 1974 had safety transfer bars.

The tiny NAAs are easy to hide but the hammers are stiff as hell. You do NOT want a LR NAA--the magnum frames are larger and easier to grip, especially with aftermarket grips.

The Short and LR NAA's are as small as they come and conceal extremely well, just disappear in the pocket. These are point and shoot guns, you can always replace the stock grips with better ones and increase the size a little bit, but they'll still be far smaller than the larger magnum frame NAA's.

The downside to the small ones tho IMO is none of them have ever been given the Pug treatment with improved sights. The sights that are cast one piece with the frame and barrel are not adjustable and have a POI shift so far from the POA you cannot shoot them past 7 yards. Pug style sights make any NAA a 12-15 yard capable gun.

I will never buy another NAA that has integral, non-adjustable sights.
