Worcester MA gun "buyback"??

I went to the gun buy back back in 2012. But it's not what you think I had a bunch of junk .22 rifles of some worthless obscure brand. I don't remember what it is was I checked the google before.. the rifles were rusted and the action well seized.

My grandfather told me to get rid it as he was moving and wanted more room in the safe.

Anyhow they gave me some gift cards for price chopper $50. I then went and brought $50 worth of ammo and used the $50 gift card for groceries. I went into Worcester Police headquarters and they had bins of guns. Mostly trash...

There was this gray haired Lieutenant in uniform my guess he was the Official on duty for the patrol Division that Saturday morning (as he wasn't checking anyone in). He was digging through the plastic bin like it was Legos (most of it was just trash and pellet guns).. his face lights up that's an H&R .38! He took the gun and disappeared.

Harrington and Richardson was a large gun manufacturer in Worcester most of the factory is where Walgreens is on Park avenue.. they have long been out of business the brand owned by some other company.

Outside of liberal cities we never see gun buy backs down here in NC.

I guess it's a way to get rid of old junk. I couldn't just throw those .22 rifles away they had serial numbers etc. Knowing my luck I would have lost my LTC for that.

“But it's not what you think…”

Tell us you‘re a fudd without telling us you’re a fudd.

I believe all FFL business in Massachusetts has to be in a commercial location. I held a sign outside the Waltham one in 2014 offering to buy guns for cash. The POS detective from Waltham, a dumbass named Joseph brooks and a few other goons harassed myself and @sbi and threatened us.

That loser brooks called my town’s licensing officer to whine about me. My town’s licensing didn’t give a shit what brooks said,

Is this true? I thought and FFL could purchase even not in a commercial location? For example going to a house of someone recently deceased.

Be a shame if someone was to turn in a nice gun
with a deep circumferential trench routed into the barrel
just forward of the chamber.

1. Anyone who reads Crimestoppers Notebook knows that doesn't work.
2. Only one method works for sure.

"...gun buyback events across the nation this weekend..." Are there other gun buybacks this weekend? I could get rid of an old Sears double barrel shotgun with one dented disabled barrel and a rotted wood stock.

I'll give you $10 for it, and I'll turn it into an art project. Better than giving them any bumps in their stats.

Unbelievable how we are our worst enemy after reading some of the posts here.
Right?

To anyone thinking of participating in a gun "buyback":
  1. It doesn't matter that you're turning in a worthless or non-working gun.
  2. It doesn't matter what you do with the money they give you.
  3. It doesn't matter if the "gun" you turn in was hastily made from gas pipe and framing lumber.
  4. They don't care how much they spend.
  5. They're not interested in getting guns "off the streets" because they know what they're getting was never on the streets.
  6. They do it for the "money shot" of a police chief or two standing in front of a table full of scary looking guns.
  7. Their goal is to frighten the masses into voting for their anti-gun agenda.
  8. If you participate in any way, you've helped them and you're the worst kind of freedom hating skinflint.
You know what? I'm going to make this post a sticky because I'm sick of having to write it every time some fudd brags about turning in a broken single shot 12 ga and spending the money on ammo.

Every “buyback” has their bragging picture, posts of it on their own Facebook, instagram, Twitter, etc and a post event local newspaper or tv piece with all the buzzwords of talking guns off the streets, etc. they want the volume and total number that’s why quite a few of them will take non working guns. It could be a prop, it still fills space on the table for the picture.

The only exception I’d make is the guy who bought a 10’ piece of steel pipe, some nails and some other hardware store items and made “homemade” single shot shotguns and got quite a few gift cards before they understood he was trolling them and refused to accept more.

Has there ever been a protest at one of these?

Sounds like if it were to ever happen, you'd be a good leader for doing that.

I'd go.

Sounds like you're breaking your own rule here (and the combined wisdom of NES)! [thinking]

A bunch of crudely cut pieces of pipe don’t make the table of propaganda look great lol.
