My brother was lost at Chosin Resorvoir on 2 December 1950. I had contacted a childhood friend of his about 7 years ago. His name was William G Mahar. Bill was able to tell me the events leading up to my brother's death as he was in Korea the at the same time period.

This is a copy of a remembrance entry at the Korean War Project by Mr. Mahar:

Gun Owners’ Action League (GOAL) and the Commonwealth Second Amendment (Comm2A) have teamed up in response to an unlawful data release that includes very specific information on firearm transfers in Massachusetts.
We were recently made aware that the Firearms Record Bureau (FRB) posted links to extensive data covering every recorded gun transaction in Massachusetts going back nearly twenty years. The data files do not use buyers’ names, but it does assign everyone, including retailers, a unique numerical identification number. The data, now made public and downloadable, provides your ID number, the specific gun you bought, your town and zip code. It also provides the same information about the person or retailer you bought it from. Given all that information the data is very easy to decode.

The last one of the year. The Colt Competition is the probably the last series with real rollmarks. The Novak rear sight cut is a limiting factor without welding but worked for this client. All the usual suspects and features. I do like the rear cocking serrations for a change. The lines of this series are pretty straight and fit is very close. The EGW .245 radius grip safety allowed for a better fit since the factory tried to cut a .250, I don't know what part they used for the GS but is was gappy and allowed me to fit the EGW closely. Glenn Dean is making the case for display at SHOT in January. Sorry for the oil streaks in the photos, it's lubed up for storage and travel.
