A little clarification please. I'm getting ready to load .223 on a Dillon RL550. Do I need to use sizing Die lube when using the non-carbide versions of dies?

I once destroyed a nice Forester sizing die because I didn't properly lube the cases, so yes.

You need case lube when using carbide on bottle neck cases too!

The rifle carbide dies are only for long life. They are not like straight walled cartridges. Yes you must lube. Do you really intend to load enough to justify the added expense of carbide dies?

I use the lower cost steel dies. Since you have to lube bottle neck rifle cases anyway, I see no advantage in carbide. If my steel dies wear out prematurely, I may change to carbide. So far I have loaded about four or five thousand rounds of 223 with no problems.
