I second that. HK no compromise. I one a few HK guns and they are fantastic guns.

Every engineered product, including HK firearms, is a compromise, as compromise is the very essence of engineering.

Personally, I've had two HK USPc handguns. I still have one. My overall impression is meh. The good - they are accurate and reliable, the slide stop is generously sized and properly placed, and they can actually be carried as God and John Moses Browning intended ([wink]). The bad - the slide is stupidly oversized, the SA trigger is just OK, the DA trigger is truly horrendous, the bore axis is too high, and I really can't stand the mag release.

HK's tag line makes as much sense as Glock's. Both are good guns, but both have their flaws.

Ruger SR40 maybe even the SR40c if you might carry it. Fantastic firearm, love the SR line, great triggers, reliable guns

I like my M&P

The Sig p229 is an amazing gun - very solid. In fact, that's what I think the Seals and Secret Service are carrying but in the .357 Sig caliber. Downside they are hard to find and will cost $800 plus. But you will pay close to that for a Glock in good shape too.

i have a Glock 23 and a p229 and I like the P229 a little better.

I have both and am very happy with them. The 229 is my preferred carry gun.

Same here. I like the M&P a lot, and the G22 but the Sig 229 feels just right for me and that's the .40 I shoot best .

In 9mm the Sig 226 is the best for me.

Welcome to NES. If you haven't already you should check out the classified section. You will come across Glocks and Sigs for a decent price all the time.

I think a pristine Gen 3 Glock 27 for $650 is more than reasonable considering the difficulty in buying a Glock over the counter in Massachusetts. You may feel the same way, considering many want $700 and upward at most shops if they have an older one, and you would be hard pressed to find one there in pristine condition.

However, last week I posted a WTB in the classifieds for a gen 3 Glock 27 for $650 and got not one, but two offers for weapons that were essentially brand new.

So I did what I didn't want to do and I put a deposit on a glock 27.. Got it for a pretty good price so if I decide I don't like it I will resell it and get all my money back put of it. Also ordered the Pearce +1 grp extension.

Congrats on the new Glock. I think the grip extension was a good idea. I have fired the 27 and those little suckers can be hell to hang onto

Thank you.. I think I will enjoy it. Felt pretty good in my hands but was looking for a place to put my pinky so I ordered the extension. I can deal with the extra recoil due to the shorter barrel as I'm use to it from my S&W 1911 subcompact pro and its not bad with that..
