So if anyone asked what day I lost my mind, you can safely say it was today!!! I walked out of Market Basket today after doing some shopping and I had absolutely no clue where I had parked my car. None, zero, zilch. So if you happened to see an older looking guy with his key fob held high, just know he’s hitting the emergency alert to find his damn car!!

Raise the rear hatch. It gets the job done but it's a little more subtle.

Okay, now your other posts are starting to make sense.

If you hold it to your ear it extends the range. I was at the Sagamore mb around 2. Your plight narrowed you down to 1 of 30 people

What's a Key Fob?

I did that a couple weeks ago at the mall. It had been so long since I’d been at a mall, I forgot to pay attention to where I parked.

Also did it leaving a concert in Worcester recently. I left by the wrong exit and didn’t know where I was. Thankfully, all I had to do is ask my phone where I parked and it gave me directions.

If you hold the fob under your chin, you can increase the range.

I know that it sounds like I'm punking you, but it works. Years ago, an alarm installer told me that hack, and I've tested it many times. I guess it makes you an antenna.

You're welcome (assuming that you remember this, next time you're......wherever you said you were.

I don't have that close a relationship with my phone to ask it, but I routinely snap a photo of wherever I park. If the spots are labeled somehow it's in the picture and worst case scenario I could nav back to geo coords in the picture.

Except at home. I don't snap a pic of where I park at home. That would be weird.

Way back in the last century, before cell phones and geotracking and all this newfangled crap, I went to some huge damn mall in Clackamas, Oregon. I thought I exited by the same door I entered, but apparently not. I ended up walking around the whole facility before I found my car. Had I turned left instead of right, it woulda been right there.

I tend to park in spaces that are easy to find again. Don't need to use geo tagged photos to help me find my truck again. Worst case, IF I cannot quickly locate the truck (not a spot like I would normally use, or a full parking lot), I can always just get the truck to chirp/honk for me (plus it flashes me a bit ;)).

I do know that the GMC phone app has the function to help me locate the truck. By the time I'd navigate to that, though, I've typically already located it. Actually, the only time I really need to do that is when it's gone getting serviced. Mostly because there's enough trucks pretty similar in the same lot.

I go to a mall twice a year. That's for my eye exam (@Idoktr) and then to pick up my glasses. IF I don't go during the insanity between Thanksgiving and January 1st, it's not an issue. Last time I went during that window, I had to park in the sticks. But, I was able to find the truck pretty easily, because I was parked away from most other people.

Most often I use the dongle to remote start the truck during really warm, or cooler months. Nothing quite like going to the vehicle and having a warm interior (plus seat and steering wheel) waiting for you. It's almost like a happy ending at the beginning. [rofl2]
