Advice on concealed carry pistol

One of the members of this forum is going to let me shoot a few different pistols to see what options I have. So many guns.....so little money!!!!!

Thanks to LTCRN, I was able to shoot the Glock 27 and Sig P239. I didn't quite like the fit in my hands, but they are very nice pistols. I think I'm going to try the Glock 23 next and perhaps the Kahr. I wish I had taken the time to shoot different pistols because I would have saved a lot of money!!! [crying]

I've got a Glock 23, K9, K40, MK9, and PM9. Let me know if you want to try them.

I have the LC9 and I love it. If you look around enough you'll likely find bad reviews for just about any gun that someone doesn't like for some reason.

Love mine as well, took a little effort to bring it up to defensive pistol standards but now all set.
I love the action, the Walthers barrel is hard mounted to the frame, more percieved recoil, for me anyways.
Love the 9mm chambering in such a small accurate piece.

Ive decided to stop weighing in on what guns people should get. I have personally failed repeatedly at finding the right carry gun. I've tried the PPK, LCP, SW637, and 3" 1911. I was carrying an M&P9c for a while, in a crappy holster. Great gun, just in a poor platform.

Here's what I've learned: First, I dont like tiny guns. Maybe its the recoil or having less slide to manipulate in training, or the shorter sight radius, but I just dont like them. True, they do conceal exceptionally well. The only exception to this I'll say was the 637. I really shouldnt have sold it.. but it went to a good home and theyre cheap. I see another one in my future. While I was in MA I liked my M&P for carry (I didnt want to pay MA Glock prices), i just didnt bother to get a good holster to carry it in. This was a mistake. I moved up north and fell into the Glock camp. I just picked up a G19. I thought about going with the 26, but having had little luck with sub compact guns, I decided that I'd go one step bigger... I dont find the difference in size to be that great so far.

The other thing I learned is get a good belt and a good holster. I finally got a good belt and I've been really happy with the improvement from what I was using before. I'm waiting on the Crossbreed group buy for what I expect is going to be a much better solution for ccw than Ive had so far.

Anyway, these are just a few thoughts from someone who has been learning the hard way. Take people up on their offers to try their guns. If youd like to come up to Pelham I'd be happy to let you try my M&P9c and G19. Good luck!

You might have to shop a little but I am a big fan of the Keltec P11. 10+1 of 9mm in a lighter and smaller package than a G26 or M&P9c. Additionally, they take preban S&W 5900 series mags (12, 15, and even 30s).

The GLock 26 is heavier and wider but it is shorter in height then the p11. I wouldn't consider either a pocket gun, unless your a pretty large framed guy. The g26 is smaller in every dimension then the M&P9c. If your looking at a IWB holster at the lease with all of those choices. The Ruger lc9 or keltec pf9 both fit the bill for a pocket carry assuming your pockets are big enough and they make good IWB or belly band guns because they are so thin. The Kahr pm9 is another great option not as thin as the kel tec pf9 or light but it has a more substancial build and I would consider it a more friendly range gun appose to the light weight kel tecs. Revolvers make good CCW guns but really depends on if you like them or not.
The DB9 is a great option as its almost as small as the keltec p3at/ruger lcp. Kahr makes a cm9 thats about 450 for the same size, trigger pull and over all gun as the pm9. Might not be easy to find in MA but im sure you can get anything if you look hard enough.
I carried my g27 for a while and it eventually became more of a pain then I wanted forcing me to wear baggier clothes then I normally would. I swapped to the pm9-pf9 for pocket carry and never looked back.
