Perusing the news today we have flooding in Dallas, ANTIFA attacks in Berkeley, and the Fat Korea launching a missile over Japan. Civil unrest breaks out, or you just feel like traveling to the woods with a gun and you only have 30 minutes to grab your family and essentials and stuff them into your vehicle, what are you grabbing NES!

AR, even is this ultra restrictive state, there are tons of parts and people that know how to keep it running. And again, even in this state there are millions and millions of rounds stockpiled. May have to barter or work for them, but working together with like minded and prepared people is not a bad thing.

Hmmm good question. I might go with a Marlin 30-30 on this one. Light, effective within it's range, no mags to worry about...somewhat common caliber...reliable. If not that, shotgun for sure.

Holy cow. AK, of course. Sure, the world's full of folks who know how to keep an AR running. But nobody is needed in order to keep an AK running.

In 30 minutes I could almost pack up my house and move. In 10 minutes I could arm everybody in the family and grab 50000 rounds in a flash with a 2 wheeler.

If I only had 5 minutes I would grab 4-AR's, 4 full size pistols 10000 rounds.

The hard part would be deciding what to leave behind! And God forgive me, but I know when I am peeling out in my pick up truck, I would look at my wife and think " Damn.. I could have stacked 30000 rounds on that seat...."

I am kidding, of course. I might need a sammich in the days ahead.

Whichever one you have been training with, that you have already stocked ammo for, for this exact reason.

Ruger single-six and 10-22 used to be it. For many that would be enough.

you got to think how easy it will be to get ammo unless you want to tote a ton of it around. .357 sig, ak, both super choices until you can't find ammo. common calibers like 9mm and 5.56, where you can strip ammo from corpses, maybe find it in abandoned houses and if it's still available in looted gun shops/box stores, there.

that said, i'd choose an ar in 5.56.

This is the best response so far, I forgot about the bleak possibility of a world without sandwiches!

Just 1? Would have to be the benelli M1 super 90 and a variety of shells. Good for harvesting any game big or small and should work fine for self defense in the woods.

You guys have fun trying to eat eat the remnants of a squirrel after you shoot it with your AR.

Sounds like the solution would be a semi-cab, then you can bolt one of those plows to it and then you don't have to worry about clogged roads. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQ4sDY4xkW8

I'd grab my P229 and my 590a1, both will run along time without maintenance and have very common ammo.

1 gun? An RMR'd Glock 19.

Although if I am grabbing family and splitting, I am grabbing my 16" BCM as well.

SHTF escape? I'm grabbing my 16" laser beam maker. Probably sneaking the thermal scope off my dog zapper too.

Remnants? You mean you can't remove a squirrel's head cleanly from it's body with one well placed shot? LOL.

Shotty is for sure a versatile, useful firearm. But its usefulness and effectiveness is really dependent on the situation. If the threat or game is greater than 150 yards away, a rifle is the better tool.

This...id bring the can cannon so i could launch beers to people stranded on their roofs.

And dildos....you never want to get caught in a situation where you need one and dont have one. Remember 2 is 1 and 1 is none.
