A lightweight AR, 16" or 14.5" with a 1-8x Trijicon Accupower or 4x ACOG
I've got rifles at home and one at work with a pile of loaded mags and ammo ready to go.
I'll also have my G43 which is always with me and I have a extra Glock 19 locked and hidden in the car.
I've also a couple extra AR and glock mags in the trunk along with other bugout/get-home supplies.
.223/5.56 is relatively light and effective probably going to be the most common rifle caliber you are going to find. Can hunt or fight from far away or up close.
Obviously I wouldn't leave without another gun(s): The runner up would be a my stainless 10-22 takedown with Magpul x-22 stock which carries 3 10 rnd mags and +100 loose ammo.
If your one gun is a pistol you have got some thinking to do.![Laugh [laugh] [laugh]](/xen/styles/default/xenforo/smilies.vb/012.gif)
