Any advantage of carrying a revolver as a primary sidearm in 2025?

Seems everyone's moving towards modern pocket nines with 10 round mini flush mags, and plenty of options for optic cut pistols to take Holosun K/RMSc electronic dots. Anyone still carry a revolver as a primary piece? And not as a secondary hand-to-a-buddy ankle gun?

I figure if you drive one of those lifted trucks with a bunch of gun stickers on it and some trolls you and reports you for 'brandishing a gun', if all you have is a hot pink or neon green cerakoted revolver or a stainless shiny piece, cop asks the guy what did the gun look like - guy sees the GLOCK, SIG, HK stickers on your truck and says 'iUNNNO, it was BLACK?' cop would know he was lying.

Good advantage to carry a unique colorful gun that people would never guess.

The other reason to carry that kind of gun is because you enjoy it when other men enter your bunghole.

You do you. Carry whatever you shoot well, and don't worry about what some jerk-ass bystander thinks.
If you have haters, you know one day you'll meet one who will absolutely try to pull some shit. People get swatted all the time, blackmailed, etc. I can't imagine a rabid anti-gunner wouldn't try to make a false brandishing report if a big lifted truck with gun stickers cut him or her off. Figure it's advantageous to have a gay ass looking colorful gun that's not very common if the ever the recipient of such a troll false report.

The Smith 69 is a great backpacking gun. 5-shot .44 mag with extra lockup like an X-Frame

The 360PD is as much muzzle energy you can get into a tiny gun. If you can master that you can shoot anything.

J frames make great backup guns. Faster than a reload.

Okay, but I think it's also NES Received Wisdom that slapping gun stickers all over your ride is not that prudent. So I don't know how many people here would need to worry about that part.

Yeah sometimes I will pocket carry a 642 to deploy first if I needed to. Cause the primary is a VP9 with optics and light or P30 in a man purse and 5x spare mags. That's to be used if the 5 wheel gun shots don't stop the threat it'll give some time for cover to whip out the bigger piece.

With the 365 that’s out

There’s just no practical reason for a j frame sized wheelgun. But again guns don’t always have to be practical

If you are of that persuasion fondling cylinders is fun …have at it

Carry what you want. Yes, I do carry a model 36 snub now and again. Does it matter? I have had people tell me they would never carry a snub, too few rounds, too hard to reload etc. Next time I see them they are carrying a little 32 or 22 semi auto because it is small and light. I don't judge, carry what you want and stop asking NES.

Have to add...Practice with what you carry.

I used to think a 44Mag would be a good idea when high in the Northern Rockies where you are not at the top of the food chain ... but my 460 Rowland gives me 44Mag energy with 1911 paced follow-ups and 8 round mags ... so no, I don't think I can think of a reason to go wheel as primry.

I'm sure the shiit not secure enough in my manhood to carry a purple wheel gun, nope, not for me. My 38 S&W model 64 shoots great, I use to deer hunt with it but it weights a ton and is harder to conceal compared to my Sig 365.

You love to hear yourself talk.

I change out my carry guns from time to time. Most comfortable I own is the LCP but the round leaves something to be desired. Currently I’m carrying an LCR .357 with 2 spare speed strips. Not the fastest to reload, but not as bad as people think either with a little practice.

I don’t live in south central or go in shady areas as a rule, so I feel quite comfortable with 5 rounds of .357 ready to go. It shoots really nice also.
