Anyone going to the GOAL Banquet on May 19th?

Okay, so that makes seven NES'rs (Well, six NES'rs and one wife):

Me and Mrs. G
dreppucci007
USMA-82
The Goose ("There's two 'o's in 'Goose', boys")
SR and Patrick

Six are all that are needed to reserve a table. I believe that a table will seat a total of 10, so we've got room for three more before someone else has to start a second table.

I'll call tomorrow and see if I can reserve a table for us...
 
UPDATE:

I have sent an e-mail to GOAL asking about reserving a table for NES (I've tried to call all week but I've just been crazy busy).

From reading the ticket order form, it's not clear if we can all send in separate ticket reservations and request "NES Table" or if one of us will have to send in a reservation for everyone. If that's what we need to do, I don't mind writing a check.

I'll post whatever info I get from GOAL as soon as I get it...

In past banquets, no SR. I doubt there will be at this one, however, if you all want to sit together, you need to put that request in. Jay...did they say how many to a table?
 
On the ticket request form, there's a line that says, "For parties of six or more, please reserve a table under the name of __________"

I was thinking that we could get six of us to all put the same name, and write a note on the order form explaining that we all wanted to sit together.

We could all just meet up and grab a table if they won't let us reserve one...

In the past they've put a sign on tables "Reserved for_____", so they probably will this time as well. You could put the same name on your request.

Okay, got a response from Nancy @ Goal:

You can certainly have everyone send in their own reservation, but make sure they write on there somewhere PART OF NORTHEAST SHOOTERS GROUP or WITH NORTHEAST SHOOTERS. Also I recommend strongly they send them in next week; we're half full already.

Since with Traveler57 (of COURSE you're more than welcome with us!) we'll have a total of 8, it won't matter that SR and hubby sent their responses in yet.

Just got an email back from GOAL. They asked if you would send them the "official" NES list of people for our table. Some (like me) forgot to put the NES table on the form. Better you do it so it will be official.

If anyone else is planning to be at the NES table make sure you see your name on one of Jays earlier posts.

I had sent my application in a while ago before the NES table idea came up. I received my confirmation letter today, but am not listed for the NES table. Should I contact or should someone else here . I am registerd as Steven Goselin.

My suggestion is that we all let Jay give a final list to Nancy for the table.
Otherwise, we end up driving Nancy crazy with everyone calling her at once.

I just rememered that that's the weekend that my Mom's in town.

So, I'm glad that I didn't sign up before hand. As I woud have been in CT picking her up and doing wine tours and walking the Food Trade show, I never would have made it....

So, you guys have a good time...
 
Just sent an e-mail off to Nancy with the "official" NES list. I had everyone's real name except USMA82 - since we have 7 names they shouldn't have a problem getting us a table together.

I'll post any response I get from GOAL here.
 
Where is Miss Massachusetts?

Anyone heard about the program at this years banquet?

Should I assume that there will be a raffle and an auction again?

How about Miss Massachusetts again this year? Can she, please, come back to see us again. Miss MA 2005, Erika Ebbel, was very impressive, but I was about 30 years too late. Or was she just 30 years too young??? [crying]

She was beautiful (duh), very intelligent (MIT Math major), and could put 10 shots in the X ring (MIT Pistol Team). My kind of lady.
 
So the banquet is this coming Friday...

I haven't heard anything back from GOAL, but I'm taking that as good news... I'll just assume that they're "up to their @$$holes in alligators" right now and too busy.

Now, onto the important stuff... [wink]

This will be the first GOAL banquet I've gone to, so please forgive the noob questions.

1. What's the "dress code"? Is this going to be a black tie affair? Shirt and tie? Business casual?

2. About how long should we expect it to last? We need to know so we can tell our sitter when we'll be home.

3. I haven't read anything to the contrary, so I will assume that on Friday evening of this week, the Hilltop Steakhouse will be the most secure facility in MA... [wink]
