Bass Pro On Fire

My brother worked there for years, he just moved 3 weeks ago to Mesa AZ and they let him transfer his job there.

Hope the employees can work at other stores while they rebuild.

If the merch is damaged they're going to claim insurance for it. The carrier will pick up the salvage and sell it off to a Building 19 type operation.

Just heard on the scanner. Unless the Building Commissioner says otherwise, BP will be allowed to re-open tomorrow, just cordoning off the affected area. BP will have crew cleaning up the mess after the FD leaves (they are still there).

Employees were allowed to retrieve their personal belongings a while ago.

Oh look someone has an opinion different than me must be a d-bag; I have. Hows the Hitler youth group going?

Dude, seriously? Tongue-in-cheek sarcasm is one thing. Rejoicing in innocent people's misfortune is beyond the pale. I don't get your "Hitler youth group" correlation, but they would be the ones enjoying other people suffering.

In the year and a half I've been here I've never neg-repped anyone, and I have disagreed with plenty. You win, my streak just ended...

- 1 to you Sir :(

Melted Glocks and Kahrs for everyone!

Last time I was there they didn't have any Glocks or Kahrs. My experience there was okay. It's a big box store so I don't expect much from them. The prices on most stuff was all MSRP and I could get it way cheaper on Amazon or by supporting my local gunshop (FS or Coin Gallery). It still sucks to see people losing jobs by stupid things like this.

Wow, I was just there with the kids (7 and 5) today and we had a blast....my son got to take his first shots with a BB gun and real bow and my daughter finally understands the front sight and lit up the shooting gallery with the laser gun. hope no one was hurt and they can get back up and running in short order

I saw the TV add saying they were going to have this big kids thing there with BB Guns, Archery and Cook Outs.

As soon as I saw the fire thing I thought "OH one of the cooking fires went bad" [wink], doesn't sound like that was it though [grin].

Thank god that apparently the employees won't be losing anytime at work.

Now how about we start a petition to get cabelas to open a store in MA?

Must have been a Glock explosion. Oh wait..

WCVB TV5 is reporting that the fire may have started in the mulch outside the building, next to the boat service entrance.

Storing Glocks is always touch and go without a blast bunker and Halon fire suppression systems, but unless BP stores them outside in the bushes, I think the Glocks are off the hook.

Yes, good news that they are re-opening.

Cabelas is a lost cause. They attempted to extort ~$50Million (IIRC) in concessions from Plainville and MA as a "condition" to opening in Plainville (I think it as along US 1 near I-495) and tried something similar in Hooksett, NH. When they couldn't get their way, they canceled their plans to expand into MA or NH. There was a thread on NES about the Plainville venture and I recall seeing stories about the Hooksett venture in the Manchester Leader a year or two ago.
Here's some links on those attempts:

My New York son is on a volunteer fire department. They make runs every week during the summer for mulch fires. It's spontaneous combustion.

I've never heard that. It would be interesting if that's what happened here.

I can't say there prices have been great on everything but I have got a few good deals ane they usually have what I'm looking for. Glad they could reopen today.

They are however a better store. I always swing by when I'm in Me.
