It's not a bad idea at all. It would be raising money to fight the Monstrosity anti-2A law in court and that is the only fight that matters now. [thumbsup]

The guy running the show is talking about giveaways, gun shops closing down for the event, state senators and the news coming, etc. in that reddit thread. I'm tempted to drop by and see what kind of turnout they got.

Edit: not going to bother- even those reddit pages have no participation in the threads or indication that people are aware this is going on.

"Beacon Hill Democrats earlier this year ushered through a measure that bars residents under 21 from owning semiautomatic rifles or shotguns, though people between the ages of 18 and 21 could still own and possess firearms with an identification card."

Oh, it bars a lot more than that. It's like news organizations are allergic to mentioning how most semi-automatic rifles are now banned.

Again, you have to remember what you're complaining about: "news organizations" routinely fail to understand anything at all about firearms terminology or method of operation. They're just not interested in learning anything about guns. And why's that? Because they know their readers are similarly ignorant.

Expecting media outlets to understand the nuances of MA gun law is like expecting teenagers to understand the nuances of mortgage financing. CAN they learn it? Maybe, if they make the effort. Do they have any interest in learning it? No. None at all.

Also, even people who aren't outright antis aren't always going to grasp a lot of this stuff. If I wasn't a shooter, I wouldn't have a clue how guns work except what I might get out of articles or videos, which tell you that a semiauto works because the slide goes back... but you don't know what a slide is, why it would be desirable for it to go back, or what happens inside the gun when it does. You just won't have any context for understanding any of it.

Just like how it's a lot easier to understand mortgage financing if you actually have a mortgage.

I totally get that, but it seems like it would be a point of pride for them. "This new law also prohibits the sale of 'assault style weapons'" certainly seems like something they'd want to brag about.

That's like 85% of reddit users in general. Unironically. They all congregate there to the point where many of the people/discussions are literal caricatures.

I've not really looked at MA Guns in a couple yrs but but of that reddit forum are absolute fags/liberals who just so happen to own firearms.

I’ll grant you laws in general (never mind gun laws) are convoluted and will give you a popsicle headache two sentences in. But don’t underestimate people in the media. My friend works for a local news station and the amount of stories they are told to ignore is astounding. They know more than we think.

i do care, but find the idea of 'negotiations' with a regime that openly preaches your incarceration and extermination to be utterly ridiculous.
demonstrations against democrats and their tactics do same good as demonstrations against hamas.
 
The fact is no rally or show of force will persuade these "Elitist" politicians from their will of weakening our country.
They want all the power and will stop at nothing short of the destruction of it all for personal gain.
While waving our flag as they let the cities burn and stomp on any with the mere thought of stopping it..
Using the police as their own enforcers against the freedoms of the people.
As the police are told to turn their backs while the real criminals roam free to terrorize the weakened honest citizens.
Those same police will do anything for a few dollars more and the promise to be grandfathered from said civil rights violations as they impose them on others.
Screwing over theirs children's rights in the process. But hey, twenty dollars is twenty dollars..

What will they do when they have no one to send to foreign wars?
When the people finally realize like Covid 19, that our rights have been played.
It was all about the lust for more power and profit and the people's safety was never what it was really about.
When their lies and the media are pushed so often that even those that live in a cave can see it for the corruption it really is.

Only one box can save it and it ain't the ballot one.
That is why they want your guns...
