Boston gun violence

Peter Gelzenis is a fairly decent journalist. He states the facts and he apparently understands that all of the laws on the books are not going to discourage these gangsters from their senseless killer rampages. Despite what Peter thinks, those of us who live in the city do fear the violence even if most of it is not in our neighborhoods. Up the street and around the corner is an easy commute. Who is going to want to buy a home in a city so entrenched with gangsters and their sporadic gun violence? At least stabbings are close up and personal, hitting the intended target. Many families with gangster kids are moving out of Roxbury, Dorchester and Mattapan to places like Hyde Park, Dedham, Milton and beyond, hoping to save their kids. Too often, the kids take their gangster ID with them and bring trouble to the new neighborhood.
The biggest problem is the outright failure of the police and politicians to acknowledge the who, what, where and why of these gangsters and support meaningful remedial action. Meaningful action is punishing those who commit the crimes not enacting more useless laws for the rest of us to adhere to. Peter gets it. Tom and his City Councillors do not.
Best regards.

so the police commissioner says much of this violence is committed by those who are no strangers to the police?

WHY ARE THEY OUT ON THE STREET?

I'm done now :)
