C&R Transfer at KTP

Can I buy a C&R eligible pistol at KTP on my C&R FFL and take it home to MA or does it have to go to a MA 01 FFL?

(I saw a nice Luger that was reasonable.)

Technically, you should be able to. KTP may not do it....and it's possible a MA FFL wouldn't do the transfer.

Call KTP and talk to them about it.... unless you are posting because they rejected it....

...then call a local FFL and see if they'll do the transfer.

Yep, no problem. No need even for a NICS check. You just exchange FFL certs and you're good to go. Just file an FA-10 when you get back into MA.

Like Jason says, though, if KTP doesn't want to do it for some reason, then too bad for you.

Yup, jd is correct. I've made that transaction at KTP. It's quick and easy. They smiled at me and chuckled a reply of... "well that's what the C&R is FOR", when I asked if I could buy there.
