CT Carry Secures CT State Police OPEN Carry training document.

Thats great..... but if you actually read it it's pretty disturbing!
State Police may approach and request to see the pistol permit of someone who is in possession of a handgun in order to determine the "validity" of the pistol permit

If an individual purposefully refuses to produce such permit, or properly identify themselves, then they may be subject to arrest for interfering with a police officer, if the elements of that crime are present
uhhhh wronggggg......

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the whole, you're guilty until we see your permit idea. Barely citizens in this shithole.

Carrying a firearm is not probable cause. You can't just be pulled over to be asked for your license with out doing anything wrong just to make sure you have a license.....

In CT (now) you can! Seriously, you're going to go to the state that just banned almost everything semi-automatic and insisted people "register" magazines and tell them they need probable cause? HA!

"breach of peace" if a lib sees you with a firearm and is afraid of you that can probably be interpreted as "breach of peace"

Breach of peace has a very broad and arbitrary definition, which makes it easier to defeat in court. Also you can NOT breach an officer of the law's peace, so if they stop you because they see you with a gun and charge you with "breach" they are even more wrong!

Breach of Peace in CT revolves around the persons INTENT. I believe thats consistent across all definitions in all states, although I'm only sure of CT. If you frighten people and its not your intention, then its not breach of peace.

Thats one of the reasons if you are ever OCing and an officer asks you something like "why are you doing that? To make a point? "
Your answer should always be "no, I'm just out here going about my business".

Yet another instance of why we're out of here. Two more months in this hell hole.

where are you going? I live right down the road from you. Trying so bad to leave too. No jobs here; we led the country in job loses last month, -5700. I graduated uconn 4 years ago and havent gotten an interview yet. I have to commute to boston now to go to school. Learned my lesson, dont go to school where there are no jobs.

I thought the Goldburg case put all this breach of peace crap to bed.

He beat the case, but only in that town I believe (Glastonbury?) have the police used their "get out of lawsuits free" card, so they can still do it in other towns free of consequences. It's their "immunity" which assumes they are operating in good faith. If they do it, and the charge gets beat, then do it again, they have a very hard time proving good faith.

The judge in the Goldberg CIVIL suit was very Anti. During depositions he agreed with the defense (the town) that the presence of an exposed firearm was RAS for a Terry stop.

At least eastern MA has the benefit of an exploding job market. Thats why we ended up as MA residents. Last year when we were looking for a place in MA I said "The Condo market in Cambridge is probably pretty weak?". The agent laughed in my face. (then quickly apologized)

Eastern CT is dying. Pfizer and EB have massively scaled back, which has very adversely affected both the job and real estate markets in the area.

You can buy a tasteless massive McMansion in SE CT for $350K. These homes were going for $700K 6 years ago.
The only benefit of the terrible home market is that there isn't much point in selling our home in CT. So we have a very nice weekend place. I do love my local community in CT, but its just going nowhere.

Even the Casinos with their thousands of crappy jobs are contracting.

Finally, the Hartford insurance companies have been downsizing for years.

All that leaves is UTC (Sikorsky, Prat, Otis, Hamilton Sunstrand) and Fairfield County.

Fairfield is thriving because its a bedroom community for NY finance guys. They took a little hit in 08-09 but have been running strong ever since.

We just rented a condo in NH. Moving July 1st. Automatic 5% raise plus what we save in sales tax. More than pays for what it will cost us to move.

If you meant that you can now be pulled over in CT to have your driver's license checked, that remains unlawful. The Supreme Court established in Delaware v. Prouse that police may not stop motorists without probable cause in order to check their license and registration.

...... Who said anything about driving?

lucky rat bastard. i wish i could peace out of MA as quick as you just did CT!

Right now I'd rather live in MA than CT.

Between gun laws and taxes it's retarded. Taxes are going up again this year because they still can't balance the budget even after hosing us more last year.

I'd rather you up here too. You'll probably be buying a former moonbat's house or something. That's a win for the NE. And yep CT is really circling the drain... never thought I'd see that happen.
