Deals and steals

What are there, like 4 different ones of these now: Walmart, Harbor Freight, that Bunker Hill Security one, and one other?

Any of these worse than another, or any stand out for any reason, such as sealing gasket, etc. ? Might be going to both Walmart and Harbor Freight this rainy Sunday.

There are these, too, which I recently purchased from Costco, and found to be quite good (they look like they may be re-branded MTM cases): https://www.costco.com/Greenmade-Store-All-Crate,-4-pack.product.1731258.html

Plastic ammo cans make me hesitate. I have one from tsusa and harbor freight that I got with a coupon for maybe 99 cents. I use the harbor freight one to hold my first aid kit in my car.
What makes me hesitate is full of ammo it is heavy and I wonder about potential for cracking should it hit the shooting bench or something else on a cold range day.
How about stacking ability? Not sure how high you can stack usgi metal cans either.
Curious of other’s thoughts. Wouldn’t be the first time I overthought something 🤷🏻

I’ve had an HF .30cal can now for 5 years now in all seasons, fully loaded with ammo/mags, thrown around the vehicle, on shooting benches, on the ground, and from upper 80’s F to as low as 0F. It’s still gtg.

If you bring full ammo cans to the range, I want to party with you.

I am the only person I know that shows up to the range with 1K rounds. I need better friends. [laugh]

DJBrad is pretty good to party with.

I bring 1K to the range when I go, for whatever calibers I bring (usually 9 & 223)

I have a 50CAL can labeled "Range" for obvious purposes. I have never decided to burn through its entire contents in a single trip. Someday, I'll be feeling that flush...

You do... if you don't cry the night before a range sess with how much money your about to blow

Whats the point

Will this work for a 6.5 Creedmoor build?
of course.
with 6.5CM only trick is a bolt - you may use a usual one, but usually it is advised to get a high pressure bolt that has smaller hole for a striker pin.
i found that for my .308 overcharged reloads it also works better.

but a lower/upper are still same, just make sure they are compatible.

6.5cm loads for gas gun can be tricky, really. i mostly reuse same loads that are considered hot for my 24" bergara, but in a gas gun they are not on a hot side.
i will get to that, also, boosting the loads and swapping eldX hornadys to rdf noslers that seem to perform superb in all gas guns i have.

Limit of 4x .30 caliber ammo cans for just over $12 with tax and you can get multiple purchases for the same deal with each transaction. Good through the 29th. These do have a gasket on the lip.

I returned a bunch of these at the end of the summer because the latches failed on 3 of 12. Maybe just a bad batch, but didn't trust the rest after that.

Thanks for the feedback. As with all things you do get what you paid for. Hopefully the ones I bought hold up. Was the latch on your tight upon closing and the plastic broke?

All I see is the Blem ones left. Was yours not a blemished lower?

i had one blem and 3 non-blems, and frankly never saw what was the difference. i think in some cases blems can have real defects, but most of the time it is just a way for a brand to sell an overstock with no excuse to drop the mainstream price.
last sample was an MDT chassis - also sold as a blem on a black friday sale but it is pretty perfect as a product. go figure.
