I feel all that. I don't eat M&C often; when I do, it's a whole box. Same with any of those backpacker meals. There's no world where this is two servings, I just climbed a mountain with a pack on my back. You and my son. All the time. LOL
5 days a week last summer, he went through an entire box of M&C himself every lunch. He has this MASSIVE ceramic bowl he painted several years ago. It would fill the thing.
He wore himself out on it. Which is good. He eats pretty well outside of if he has M&C.
Always been a fan of Mountain House. I wish there was an outdoor store nearby. I bet my son would get a kick out of a bag of chilimac.
But be careful on the "portions." A pouch of MH is TWO servings. Fat chance. It's 200cal of food. That's not a serving. So a #10 is only about 5 "real" servings. Those buckets at $95 are just 12 pouches. You can get a pouch on Amazon for $10. About the same price. And you get to order what you want instead of 3 or 4 of your pouches being granola in teh bucket.
I'll make myself feel better that when I'm putting those nearly 3k resting calories into myself, it's because I'm <200lb at 6'3"...
