Deals and steals

10% off with code DECORXTRA10

Home Depot adds to their home defense lineup. Reviews are worth the click.
Note to self: stop looking at deals and steals on a Saturday night, several whiskeys in. At least I have some time to explain to Mrs. TheRoad why we need a sword.

Unfortunately the 20% off codes finally ended for RTB. Hopefully we see them pop up again and I will update when they do. Getting 20% for entire orders with red dots was a killer deal.

Skinflints wake up
now you can get them assembled for $229 Combat Armory CA19 Pistol with Polymer Sights - Compatible With Gen 3 Glock® 19 Parts AND a mag.
I don't know how the CombatArmory kits compare to the kits from RighttoBearArms, (they seem the same) BUT I finally sat down to assemble the kit I got just before Thanksgiving (and the price cuts) AND....
NO GO, the frame and the locking block are .46 mm different. We'll see what CombatArmory does, but I didn't plan on having to machine this kit.

After I sent an email, they called me and explained that the parts are meant to be a 'tight' fit and the block and frame will work in during shooting. They're sending another locking block with better measurements, so we'll see.

32 of the servings are "Orange Drink", yum.

Is there a pack like this without so much filler?
Mountain House is still having a sale on their site. If buying by the bucket I'm more of a classic assortment guy(only $15 and change more expensive than the ReadyWise bucket), 4 entrees along with a breakfast(granola) of sorts.

aimsurplus kits never had such BS.

Damn that's literally cheaper than grocery shopping.

I'm sure most servings are defined like Twinkie servings - Two servings per package.

"It's a package of Twinkies. WTF eats ONE Twinkie???"

Remember - a whole box of Kraft Mac n Cheese serves a family of 4. LOL.

Guess who identifies as a family of 4

You and my son. All the time. LOL

5 days a week last summer, he went through an entire box of M&C himself every lunch. He has this MASSIVE ceramic bowl he painted several years ago. It would fill the thing.

He wore himself out on it. Which is good. He eats pretty well outside of if he has M&C.

Always been a fan of Mountain House. I wish there was an outdoor store nearby. I bet my son would get a kick out of a bag of chilimac.

But be careful on the "portions." A pouch of MH is TWO servings. Fat chance. It's 200cal of food. That's not a serving. So a #10 is only about 5 "real" servings. Those buckets at $95 are just 12 pouches. You can get a pouch on Amazon for $10. About the same price. And you get to order what you want instead of 3 or 4 of your pouches being granola in teh bucket.

Years ago with the old Broadsword orders, I got cases of #10 cans. I think I've got 6 cases in the basement. Plus a few buckets of rice and beans and wheat. Just in case. I'll feel better at the next house when I have a well. I can be self-sufficient just a bit longer without worrying. Not that I think any of that will ever happen.
