Deals and steals

Soft State Restriction. That's a nice way to put it.
It’s actually pretty reasonable in that they said “we honestly don’t understand the new law” I spoke to the “case manager “ assigned and told him “I’d be glad to discuss the nuances with you or I could just explain that laws in MA become effective 90 days after signing so this law doesn’t start until 10/23”. They accepted that and shipped my order.

For all the active winter people out there, Spyder is having an insane labor day sale and it's legit 50-80% off. Input code "laborday" for additional savings off the already-discounted prices.
For example: I paid $123 for a Volt shell jacket this past spring during their "post-winter sale". Now it's freggin $63 (+$10 shipping) after code. Complete bullshit for me. This is my favorite winter sport brand for sure.
LOL bought the camo beanie.

I'm glad it worked out. As for reasonable. There is nothing reasonable about it. And for the sake of all Mass gun owners, please don't treat it as reasonable. You should be pissed off.

Here is the text I received today (for the record I am not on welfare):

*Assertion of Intent Regarding the Use of Ammunition and Components in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts*

I, the signer below, a lawful citizen and resident of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, do hereby assert and
affirm my intent with respect to the use of ammunition and firearm components in my possession. My
acknowledgment and understanding of the laws governing firearms within the Commonwealth, particularly those
concerning large capacity firearms, are as follows:

1. I understand that a "large capacity weapon" is defined in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a semiautomatic firearm with a fixed large capacity feeding device or capable of accepting, or readily convertible to accept, any detachable large capacity feeding device; or a large capacity firearm that is a rifle, shotgun, or
handgun.

2. I acknowledge that a "large capacity feeding device" is defined as a fixed or detachable magazine, belt, drum,
feed strip, or similar device capable of accepting more than 10 rounds of ammunition or more than 5 shotgun
shells in the case of a shotgun.

3. I assert that any ammunition or firearm components in my possession will not be used to illegally assemble or
convert a firearm into a large capacity firearm as defined by Massachusetts law.

4. I affirm that I will not utilize any ammunition or components to increase the capacity of any rifle or pistol beyond
10 rounds of ammunition or a shotgun beyond 5 rounds of ammunition.

5. I acknowledge that the possession or use of an "assault weapon," as defined by the laws of the Commonwealth,
is subject to strict regulation, and I assert that I will not use any ammunition or components in conjunction with
such a weapon in a manner that is contrary to the laws of Massachusetts.

6. I understand the serious nature of these laws and the penalties associated with the misuse of ammunition or
firearm components in the creation, modification, or use of large capacity firearms or assault weapons.

7. I hereby affirm my commitment to responsible gun ownership, the safety of the public and myself, and the
adherence to all applicable laws and regulations concerning firearms within the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts.

*** By making this assertion of intent, I demonstrate my understanding of and compliance with the laws of
Massachusetts regarding firearms and affirm my responsibility in ensuring that my conduct concerning the use of
ammunition and firearm components promotes safety, legality, and the public welfare. ***

Oh dear God...

I can just see the prosecutor using the signature to establish that the defendant was fully aware of the laws and hence willfully, deliberately, and with full awareness, broke the law.

Why did you get this?

And what about #4. So now you can't load shorts in to a 22 tube fed rifle.

All this, for a f*cking spring???

The email I received was because I purchased some reloading components from a company that I have transacted with before. They previously had an attestation that you would follow the law and required a photocopy of your LTC. This is brand new.

Previous posts show Primary Arms is also making you now attest you will not do bad things. The company I am dealing with cannot be named due to NES site rules to not name companies shipping to MA.

would rather name it, so no one would make any deals with them ever again.
if primary arms would send me shit like that - it would be the end of my purchases from them. i am not swearing an allegiance to any f#cking online merchant. an 'assertion' my ass.

it is one story to email a copy of your LTC and proof of having required licenses, and other to 'assert' of your 'intent to commit an intent'. f#ck `em.

Well, Primary Arms asked the same thing above. So, if you have a MA address it’s going to come for you from every larger supplier.

interesting, as i just got an ar15 charging handle from them and got nothing of sort. well, let it come, i may actually wipe my ass with it and mail it back covered in my shit.

the whole issue with this process is a total readiness of majority to comply with anything. 'hanging to commence at noon, bring your own rope'. and now we can add - 'a mandatory hanging license is to be pre-purchased by all scheduled for an execution'.

Well, if you can wipe in the form of an "X" on the signature line, I'm sure that would suffice!

I got asked for a bcg and trigger. Both going with the aero upper I ordered the week before from them. They never asked on the upper

all those developments are rather sad. just makes me more confident that a global cessation of all online arms sales is really coming, like a death by a thousand cuts.
a forceful collection of your initials and signatures on any kinds of forms that later to be transferred to authorities is not a good development at all.

Have you bought a gun lately? You do the same assertion on the federal form now....every time.

Honestly with all of these posts about people bitching about signing forms that mean nothing. I wish these companies would just do the PSA thing and stop shipping to places like MA, and eventually you'll run out of places to buy from, and won't have to bitch anymore.

that was a sweet sweet deal. a $325 aero poverty pony, $47 bcg, $9 handle, pinty and works, all as cheap as it gets.
build seems to be perfectly intact. will try to get her to the range next week.

ps. and not a single fecking form to click at.

Stupid question: Any problem or weirdness putting an Aero M4E1 upper (from Schuyler) on a fairly generic forged AR15 lower? Will it look right? Or is that a terrible mismatch? I don't have a matching Aero M4E1 lower and too late now to obtain one without paying post-8/1 crazy money. 🤔
