Deals and steals

Anyone have one of these? Im looking to throw a couple in the back of the truck for tools/rain gear/tarps/bungees/etc. The box that the bed cover rolls up in allows me a like ~7 3/8" height from the floor of the bed to the bottom of the box. MTM says the outside dimension of the crate is 7 1/2" high, so just about 1/8" too high.

-Are there any "feet" or "pads" on the bottom that I can grind down to gain enough to slide the crate under the box?
-Is it a true 7 1/2", or will i be able to finagle it into a 7 3/8" space?
Mine just came. I'm getting a more height than expected .7 5/8". bottom is like posted previously. If you grind it will put a hole.

Just fyi

Not cool, mine didn't come with a pin! Although, I got it at the $100 sale price a couple months back. The Pinty Club is way cooler than the Sig Legion Club, not sure how I'm going to display my membership status when I go to the secret meetings.

Also, since this is a Deals & Steals thread, this is currently on sale for those interested:

If I can’t mount a Pinty on it I’m passing.😆

LMT Defense Stripped Lowers $275 + shipping. Easy enough to convert into a "fixed magazine" for the MA folk, but a good price on a nice ambi lower no matter what state you're in. View attachment 943331
Wow... Glad I'm not in the PRM. On Friday I ordered a pair of Sharps Bro's AR15 lowers, also with ambi bolt release hardware, for less than that one LMT. It also has the trigger guard integrated and looks billet even though it's forged. So best of both worlds (I prefer the billet look and integrated trigger guard). Oh, and there's no shipping costs involved. ;) Not going to out the shop I placed the order with, but it's within easy driving distance for me. Plus, this appears to be their standard price (just under $130 each), not a special.

It amazes me the kind of hoops people stuck in the PRM have to go through. Sofa king glad I'm not living in that state anymore.

Sharps Bros is a sleeper brand on semi-ambi lowers. Great for the price and excellent craftsmanship / finishing all around. I'd say one of the most requested lowers I get asked for is a LMT, so this is a good price considering they usually go for $350-$400 retail throughout the rest of the year.

Holy CRAP Batman!

I was looking at Aero, Diamondback and Sharps for the lowers I needed to order (this month). Called the shop to find out WTF "in stock warehouse" actually meant. Yeah, at the distributor and would get shipped out ASAP to them. Ok, at least it's a reasonable thing. Was told that inventory was 'live' so good chance the two will actually be in stock and ship out fast enough (not sure if they went out on Friday yet). Also talked with the guy a bit and found that the DB was the more questionable of the three. With Aero and Sharps being much better brands (better QC and such). I have an Aero lower already (AR10/M5) and it's good. Just didn't care for what was on the side of the one they showed as being in stock. So, for just a few doll hairs more, I ordered the Sharps. These are the first lowers I'll have with the ambi bolt catches. Will be interesting to see if they have the screw to tighten up the upper/lower fitment or not. If not, I can always slap them into a jig and create the hole. Shouldn't take me more than ten minutes to do that each one. More setup time, then running the tap than anything else. Will probably do it after media blasting is done to help preserve my drill bits (anodizing is hard on bits).

The lowers will be shown in a future update of my Cerakote projects thread.

Assuming you’re talking about the Sharps Livewire, they don’t have the action screw but as mentioned it’s easy enough to add one.
That and a 4-40 tap run into the safety detent hole.
Mike at Civilian Supply is who turned me on to these, fortunately before 8/1.
It is a very nice lower and I was surprised at the clean design considering how they’re known more for the over the top stuff with skulls and pirates sculpted in relief onto the magwell.

That is a great deal on the LMT’s, cheapest I’ve seen ‘em in recent memory, if you can find an 8/1 Ma one it will be more than double that…

If I wanted to convert something to fixed mag, why would I buy this instead of an Anderson for $25 (when on sale)?
I just bought a 5 pack of andersons for $31 each......from Sportsmans Outdoor. I've not seen the 25 dollar deals......

Not in MA, not converting and they won't ship to MA anyway probably. But Andersons are GTG in my book. Never had an issue with one.

I think Primary Arms had them for $25. Maybe it was $31. Anyway, $6 difference.

Maximum purchase one unit, $15 flat rate shipping. I would totally buy enough to fill a flat rate box if available, but one is not cost effective.
