So for everyone worried about the registration requirement, can anyone point to a documented case of an individual being charged under the old law with failing to FA-10 a firearm? I’ve certainly never heard of it happening.

This.....add on charge as part of a more major charge, any registration charge would likely be dropped. They like to throw the book at you so the media and newspapers can state all these charges.....then more than half the shit gets dropped because honestly some of them are totally made up by the cops because they invent laws out of thin air.It would only be an add on charge, just don't go robbing a bank, shooting someone, beat up someone, etc.
Im willing to bet that less than 1/2 of KTP or any out of state long gun purchases get FA-10'ed EVER, and its been going on forever. So for everyone worried about the registration requirement, can anyone point to a documented case of an individual being charged under the old law with failing to FA-10 a firearm? Well there go my weekend plansIt would only be an add on charge, just don't go robbing a bank, shooting someone, beat up someone, etc.
If cops are looking to see if your guns are registered, you did something else wrong. It would only be an add on charge, just don't go robbing a bank, shooting someone, beat up someone, etc.
Or you were involved in a self defense shooting. If cops are looking to see if your guns are registered, you did something else wrong.
Some people think that if you get pulled over and inform the cop you’re carrying that he’s going to run your serial number to see if it’s registered. That’s not going to happen.
IIRC, first offense of failing to FA10 a gun was a $50 fine.So for everyone worried about the registration requirement, can anyone point to a documented case of an individual being charged under the old law with failing to FA-10 a firearm? I’ve certainly never heard of it happening.
S128A/B was such a dumpster fire that most DAs were probably like "f*** this shit" when some cop tried to charge someone under those sections. It has been charged before but not sure of the success rate. Especially given id bet most people CWOFed out to that anyways if it's not otherwise dropped. So for everyone worried about the registration requirement, can anyone point to a documented case of an individual being charged under the old law with failing to FA-10 a firearm? If I’m involved in a self defense shooting in Mass, the least of my worries is the registration statute that’s a misdemeanor for the first offense.Or you were involved in a self defense shooting.
People here carry daily for self defense and then think there’s no possibility someone will look into their shit unless they broke the law.
