Good evening everyone,

I'm not a very observant person, let me start with that. I've had an M&P9c for a while now, and just today noticed that right under the firing pin hole there is the slightest indent, or possibly wear or damage. Is there anyone out there with an M&P that notices this? Thanks for the help.

That's the way they all are. Mine has it too, did right out of the box. I can't remember if there's a reason for it or not, but its nothing to worry about.

The consensus Ive seen on other sites when I researched the same thing was that it helps prevent brass from building up in the firing pin channel. This is because the primers tend to push back into the fining pin channel a little, and the firing pin drags on the primers, the bevel at the bottom of the channel reduces the sharp edge a round hole would have if it was drilled into a perfectly flat face.

I have read the same.
