Im not sure the race card is involved here....maybe...but it sounded to me like the dude would have pulled anyone's (black,white, red or yellow) gun for "officer safety".

Maybe they should rethink their policy on handling other peoples guns for officer safety. They will have plenty of time to review this after they've paid this dude the millions of dollars he absolutely deserves.

It's an unbelievably big deal. Multiple civil rights violations, multiple criminal violations, negligent assault with a deadly weapon resulting in hospitalization, physical and emotional trauma, chronic medical complications, on a black man if you want to throw that card in too...and it was all on bodycam for the world to see. It's a big deal. He'll be happy with the settlement (and I'm sure it'll break seven figures).

In Maine, if you don't have a concealed carry permit, gotta inform a cop right away if you're pulled over too. Hand over your gun. Why? Better start carrying a DA/SA pistol with thumb safety and nothing in the chamber. Condition 9.

I believe in MA case law is clear. One cannot be removed from a vehicle solely because they are legally carrying. Can't be removed for a lawful activity unless there are other concerns. Verified with an LEO. Not sure in Florida.

The guys was pleasant, respectful, complied fully and honestly, and gave no signs he was a threat.

It looks like now you have to consider what gun to carry so that the cops don't shoot you with it. I'm thinking of a 45 with a beaver tail, safety slide safety with no round in the chamber or maybe a Smith& Wesson with a Hillary Hall and you leave the key at home.
