So I was I under the impression that a gun stored in a locked glove box was a no no........Yet this cop seems to be getting away with it.......
Precedent?????
Thoughts on this?
What would a judge say to you or me?
"The report said the temporary misplacement of Albert's badge in Proctor's cruiser was not considered a violation and that the storage of his firearm in a locked glove compartment was deemed adequate and not a violation of department rules."

You are good to go with glove box storage finally on 10/23

Prior to 10/23, not ok.

When you bend the knee to the King and become one of his henchmen, commoner laws and justice no longer apply.

Cop pulls you over and asks for lic/reg/insurance and you have to pop the glove box. Door falls open and cop see a GUN and your hand is *almost* right there, what happens?
This is why you keep your registration clipped above your visor and your wallet in the cup holder. Minimal reaching and minimize your interaction.

years and years ago I kept my wallet in my boot. got pulled over one day on my bike for speeding. hopped off and reached into my boot for my wallet. cop was crouched down behind his opened door, pointing a gun at me, screaming at me to "freeze". I froze.

we talked - i haven't carried my wallet in my boot since.

I carry my driver's license raw in the crotch of my underwear. For some reason I always get off of a verbal warning and they don't even want to see my license. 😂

Under prior law:

Is a firearm left in an automobile that is unoccupied and not moving subject to § 131C (transportation) or § 131L (storage)? Commonwealth v. Reyes, 464 Mass. 245, 257-58 (2013): Subject to § 131L and not § 131C.

Unoccupied and not moving (not sure how it could be moving if unoccupied) is storage.

"My registration is in my glove box, i have a license to carry, and my carry is *in* the glove box, how would you like me to proceed?"

He said "just hand me your license and your LTC"

Came back 3 minutes later, gave me a verbal for my speed, and thanked me for having an LTC and carrying.

This was a statie on 195 between weatport and FR

(I was in a federal building beforehand so i locked it in the glove box, got in the car and started it, then realized i needed the ignition key to unlock the GB and said screw it and left it in there for the drive)
