after checking out several local places and not finding a 92D in the price range i wanted.and after thinking about it for acouple days.i picked up one of these...SW40VE with two 14 rnd mags, cable lock(package still sealed),manual, even the spent test cartridge from the factory(which i opened, not knowing what was in the envelope)..

Price wasn't to bad for what seems like a hardly used firearm at $295.00

now i just gotta get a holster(belt)and get some decent practice ammo and head out to the range soon to test it out.when i do,i'll report back here and post my findings..
Wanna know how long it was before i brought it home..less then 30 mins(that includes everything from paper work to transaction and back ground check..) [smile]

only issue i notice was the rear sights were over to the right a smidge to much(was able to center it with my thumb,it that a bad sign?)that and it looks like it needs some cleaning..

If your happy with it, then everybody is happy for you, with it. [wink]

Actually though, if you can move the rear sight with your thumb, that is not a good thing. Recoil will move it just as easy. Is there any retention screw or something similiar on the sight that you could tighten down? If not, you may have to replace the sight.

i don't see a retention screw.will check out some sights(maybe get some night sights like my 92 had) either that or head back to rileys and inquire..but seeing as it was used(might be a "as is" type of deal.

BTW-i did have to apply some force to slide it back over(wasn't a light touch)..

(and yes,i'm aware of how some folk feel towards the sigma series..my feelings are the same about a certain make myself...)[wink]

[smile]thats great good for you i am actualy thinking of getting that in a 9mm getting check next week will be my first hand gun . congrats[smile]

If you want to keep that sight but want to tighten it up. Get it zeroed, mark the location with a grease pencil, drift it slightly to one side, add a drop of Loc-tite and drift the sight back in place. Let it sit overnight, should be "tight like a tiger" after that.

thanks for the hint.

jay_chris, the trigger doesn't seem to tight(odd little hinge built into trigger).i'm used to trigger on a 92D which is something like 13#,so this one feels alot lighter(not to mention the gun itself feels half the weight of m old 92D).i'm gonna see about some range time this weekend and see how it is.(i'm gonna be rusty though)

waking up a old thread here..

Well after months of owning the sigma..i finally got to the range.the trigger isn't bad after first shot.quick reset for next shot though..(IMHO)

I was only able to put 200 rnds through it (150 rnds 165gr FMJ WWB and 50 rnds 180gr gold speer HP).Loved it.

one of the guys i was with had been wanting to try one out and now he wants one to..

Nice purchase and congratulations!

The Sigma tends to get a bad rap on a lot of online forums which is wholesomely undeserved. I love the grip and grip angle which are intuitive and comfortable, a lot better than the Glocks that S&W was attempting to emulate.

I was also considering one of these but in a 9mm. Seems like a cheaper (money wise) gun to have some fun with. I know a guy with one and he loves it. My local dealer got one used right now for cheap$$$ I may consider picking it up.

If you count the S&W rebate of $50 offered now, you can buy that gun new for about $250.

It's one of the underrated bargains in the gun world.
