I took the day off from work yesterday and took the glock to the range had a little fun. I only had 50 rounds with me so my time there was short. I wanted to get a few more boxes of .40 S&W on my way home so I went to the new Dick's in Dartmouth got my ammo and a new...

Now I need to get .22 ammo!!![wink] NO more day's off for me I cant handle it.

Next comes tricking it out.[smile]
Having a Ruger 10/22 and not trying some of the many goodies that are out there for it is like having a plain baked potato and not adding butter, sour cream, bacon, cheese, well you get the idea.

10/22 + Krinker Plinker Conversion Kit = lots of empty 22 brass!!! [smile]

I've since replaced the Aimpoint with a Bushnell Holosight. Much better sight line.

The 10/22 is a great buy for new and old shooters alike. Pick up a couple of bricks of the cheapest .22lr you can find and shoot for months on short money. Spend another few hundred on accessories and laugh at the anti's who see it and think it's military grade.

Are

there limits as what I can put on the 10/22? or can I go nuts? I need to ask this is MA. Please send me some good sites for tricking my rifle out.

By law you're supposed to only add folding stocks, and any other "bad" features, on a pre ban rifle. There are plenty of old 10/22s out there you can do this to and you can pick one up for cheap money. Thats if you want to follow the law and think people care about it when it comes to a .22 rifle.
For your brand new 10/22 rifle, there is no law against turning it into a 1 shot at 100 yards hole monster using quality components. 920 Butler Creek barrels and target stock combos can be bought for about $100. Those 2 parts alone will increase accuracy greatly. Then of course there are scopes, trigger assemblies, firing pins, and just about any other part of the rifle that you can add and wind up spending close to $1,000 on accessories.
Do a search for Ruger 10/22 accessories. That will give you links to off the wall items like the krinker plinker and the MG42 design.

I could be wrong but I think the AWB doesn't apply to .22's and pump shotguns???

Better read the law again!

You are half right, it does not apply to pump anything, only semi-autos.

Also in ref to someone else's comment:

- A pre-ban semi-auto does NOT mean that it was only built before 9/13/94. It also means that it was BUILT IN AN ASSAULT WEAPON CONFIGURATION before that date. Loosely translated, damn few 10/22s legally qualify!

The best place on the web to check out is http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/go to their sponsors page and find dealers for all the parts/acssesories you need. If your goal is a tactical looking plinker, there are some nice looking fixed wire stocks or dragunov styles that look tactical but are AWB compliant. If the goal is accuracy target barrels and trigger kits are plentiful. Scan the forum there and you are bound to find reviews of any product you have questions about. Good Luck and happy plinking.
