Gun shows in NY and non-residents

There is a gun show in Middleton NY in Feb or March I have a couple questions, if I as a Mass LTC go to the show can I actually touch a gun or it is look but don't touch? Also how do non NY dealers bring guns for sale to NY? or do they?

It’s been a decade since I was at NY show, but then you were good to fondle long guns (polite to always ask permission) but for handguns you were asked to show pistol permit.

I have heard or read that if you are at a range in NY and someone lets you shoot their gun and you are seen holding and gasp shooting a gun that is not listed on your license you can get racked up....

Technically you are correct...as far as handguns are concerned
