Actually they have 3 prices. Auto Burst is the same company (for all practical purposes). Auto Burst fee of $50 is for full auto xfrs.

Rather than tossing grenades, you might offer to add your choice of western Mass. gun dealers to the gun transfer list.

Not tossing grenades... It was a comment made in jest after observing that most of these lists tend to be heavily based in eastern MA. Heck, the ubiquitous "red/green/black" list of towns didn't even have Springfield on it last time I checked!

Unfortunately most of the gun shops I visit here greet me with an unfriendly attitude so I'm reluctant to recommend any that I've dealt with thus far. My last experience was a simple question regarding an out of state transfer (long gun at that) and they said they don't want to deal with it. This from a shop I've purchased from a number of times.

Have you tried Triple A Guns in West Springfield? The owners are good friends of mine. I've sold a ton of guns there, and made good money every time.

I have... I made a purchase from them a little while ago and pop in to browse the selection from time to time.

Unfortunately I've only been able to stop by on weekends when they tend to be busy, so I haven't really had a chance to chit chat or build any type of rapport.

Thank you for the recommendation though. Hopefully one of these days I'll catch them at a slow time and I can ask about their transfer policy.

I guess that you don't realize that the list is made up from names of companies that VOLUNTEERED on GA to take interstate transfers??

It's not a list of gun shops, only those that stepped up and said that they would do transfers for anyone. Seems like you should talk with your local gun shops and suggest that they notify GA that they are willing to do transfers.

I apologize for completely derailing this thread... it wasn't my intention at all. I was just making what I THOUGHT was a humorous observation about this state. I've had a long week... perhaps my sense of humor is off tonight.

I realize exactly what this list is, and was not accusing anyone of neglecting Western Ma. I was more or less saying that I'm surprised there wasn't a single shop in this area that volunteered their info to GA. My friends from Boston talk about Western Mass as if it were the WILD west. Gun shops and saloons on every corner... I just find it ironic that online, almost any mention of gun shops, or items FS in the classifieds are typically located east of 495.

The only transfers I've done took place at Smith & Wesson because I know several people there, and it was done as a favor. Not something I would repeatedly take advantage of.

Now back to our scheduled thread... This list is a great resource for you folks in the east
