As they move their entire operation from NJ to Wisconsin. About time.

Always good to see firearm companies get out of anti states. Surprised to see Ladysmith in the article. I've never even been to WI, but I know I had great-grandparents that lived in Ladysmith for decades.

This is a smart move. It boggles the mind that a firearms manufacturer would have any facilities in a state that's hostile to their business. I understand why older companies might because they've been around since the Lincoln administration but any young company like Henry should have been established in a real state.

WI is an interesting choice. Good state for manufacturing, and presently decent gun laws (not the greatest), but it has a lesser version of IL's city/country problem and is regularly on the brink of going anti, though trends the last several years have been toward the pro-2A.

except they are doing exactly when people who stay in states like MA hate. They are not standing and fighting they turn tail and run.
If manufacturers in anti states got some lawyers , appointed political candidates, etc... maybe they could drive change. of course that cost $$ and has no guaranteed outcome. easier to runaway

Not this MA resident. I encourage companies to bail on states hostile to their product. Good for Henry.

When my Henry needed service a couple months ago, it went to Wisconsin, Last year it was going to be sent to NJ.

We had customers leave CT and MA. Huge disconnect as legislators are always looking for high paying manufacturing jobs.

It'll be a long time. In the mean time, why pay taxes to an anti state?
This. If the state hates everything you stand for and you or your business are paying taxes to them to perpetuate that. There is no other word for that but Retarded.

#1 Reason I left MA. Every tax bill I paid I knew was being used to hurt me......2A freedom and 12K/yr savings on no income tax was just perks of leaving.

Good on Henry...for taking the move. Its never easy.

Lets face the odds here..........there is only so much you can do in a state full of idiots where your heavily outvoted and conservative people are moving out not in. You can stay....but odds are you'll end up in a state full of takers paying super high taxes to fund a liberal dream utopia from a TDS crazed, illegal loving governor.

Or you can back the moving truck up and go to a friendly state with lower taxes where people think like you. It may not all be perfect...but nothing ever is.

Until that changes.......people will move when they can.

Staying and fighting is simply a bad business model. It’s not feasible unless you have unlimited wealth. Even Musk is suffering and it will be interesting to see what he does with X and Tesla. Musk is funny because I don’t think he cares. But I can understand why a Tesla stockholder would be pissed at the stock decline because Musk’s attention is spread thin. There’s a WSJ article on the subject today.

This is the @Mark from ? doctrine. He realized the hypocrisy of paying taxes to a state hostile to his freedom, picked up and GTFO.

#rolemodel
Thanks for that. Lots of people from here have done it a long time before me.........I just blab about it too much here.

As I always say its a very personal and difficult decision, and I still have roots parents and a lot of friends in MA that I get to see quarterly. So I am blessed that I get to visit them...and I still technically own a couple properties there.

I don't think its wrong for people to stay if that's what you believe in or need to do for family. There is no wrong or right decision because no one can tell the future and its something you and your family need to decide. My kids moved out of state, my wife had a good job op and it kinda made the decision for me......we didn't really need to be anywhere until our kids settled down.

Obviously any decision about people here moving will be easier than the decision Grendizer is facing buying a used Tacoma. But that's another story. [cheers]

There is no fight in those states.

MA didn't care when S&W left. I'm sure NJ doesn't care about Henry.. it's the left's superiority mindset..

they look at is as the trash taking itself out.. they'd much rather have some green or woke company move in instead.

I don't disagree. Many on this site do, however.

I didn't even leave MA due to 2A. I left because of the insane covid reaction (which was also seen on NES via MA "conservatives"). I also left because i dont want my young kids constantly exposed to bizzare sex life preferences.

Funny example I suppose: my family swore off Target due to the tranny tuck bathing suits and other similar bullshit. We hadnt been there for a few years. Last year Im back in MA visiting family and i have a target giftcard i need to spend. I go with my kids and at the checkout is some linebacker sized 60 year old guy dressed as a women openly talking about his boyfriend and relationship problems. Great!

The irony of the dench target ban is that now the left is boycotting target since target slowed down with all the gay/tranny stuff. [rofl]

Musk is not suffering Im sure.......

Whats funny is he got all the liberals to buy into his product, took their money (really our money, in tax breaks). Then he turned around and fxcked them with it, leaving them with a bunch of cars they now hate and want to sell. Its really fxcking hilarious that they literally have to drive something they hate now everyday.

What's up in the air here is he doing this for himself or for the greater good. Only history knows that.......and Im not sure i trust him.

I have a 65 Ladysmith. At least at the time - 20 years ago - it was the only 3" fixed sight revolver. Muzzle flash is designed to be hot pink. ROFL!!!

Me? I'm sad. It's sad that a state is that bad. Same with MA and NY and CT and, to a great extent lately, ME.

But the reality is that it's cheaper to make firearms, potato chips and marame plant hangers in Wisconsin than it is in New Jersey(and NY and CT and MA and, to a great extent lately, ME). For a litany of non-2A reasons. :(

I'm sad for the honest workers in NJ that will be shafted by this.

maybe he was a lousy crossdresser not a crazy transgender?

Show us on this androgenous doll where the large man hurt you. LOL

I respect your decision, but here's my hot take with 3 kids that I raised in MA and the youngest is just 17: You can't protect them from everything. Better to expose them in piecemeal under your authority than be slammed with it later. You get to make it a teaching moment. I've had hundreds of them with my kids over the years.

And my youngest??? Well, let's just say he was exposed to "bizarre sex life practices" while in grade school. There was ZERO filter at our dinner table. It was pretty funny at times. He learned about life WAAAY faster than normal 10yo boys. And he is better for it. He's much more mature and open than most 17yo horned-up boys.

Best day with my little kids - not a transjester moment, but still funny - in Silver City Galleria. Group of young HS boys in front of us. One has on JNCO's. My then 4yo oldest, in her LOUDEST VOICE, "DAD, WHY IS THAT BOY WEARING A DRESS? DAD? WHY IS HE WEARING A DRESS?" My wife was mortified. I just laughed. You wanna look stupid? You deserve to be humiliated by a 4yo. LOL

Nope.......I don't think it would ever happen...but if all the gun makers got together and decided not to sell into the commie states for any reason.....that might leave a mark.

It all depends where you live in MA. My kids were raised in conservative gun loving North Central.....even then it was touch and go when my son wore that Glock hat to school, and my wife had to talk one lady down.......and tell her is just a fxcking hat with the words GLOCK on it and no gun logo..... and it would she be OK if there was a RAINBOW on the fxcking thing you hypocrite?

If they were raised in Cambridge.....I would have moved as well before indoctrinating them with that bullshit.
