There's a name I haven't heard in a long time. Where they doing something with the Chinese? I though their thing was un-numbered (or duplicate numbered) MGs or searsRemember Aarmco?
I never heard anything about MG problems. He was indicted for smuggling weapons to China. This appeared to be in small quantities so the Chinese could duplicate them. There were also some China related financial issues. The high prices some things went for at the liquidation auction were astounding - like a batch of Raven 25's going for something like $50 each. There's a name I haven't heard in a long time. I noticed recently that the "Hitman" website is still up. Is the shop itself still open? And more to the story
Who the hell do they think they are - Bidens*?TYNGSBORO — A Westford man, charged with a Tyngsboro police officer with conspiracy to violate federal firearms laws, agreed to plead guilty to part of the firearm accusation and a new count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud for allegedly hiding a $6 million investment from a secret Chinese investor ...
Almost two years (since August of 2019).If you are a small town cop:
Do whatever you would like because they will pay you for over a year if suspected of any wrong doing.
Looks like you have 3 out of 4 selectmen corrupt with Keohane the only sensible one. I hope the feds looks into some bank accountsSelectman Ron Keohane, who until Tuesday’s election was often the sole voice on the board to support Howe, deferred to the chief’s and town administrator’s remarks.
An attempt to reach by telephone Whitman’s lawyer, Oscar Cruz, was unsuccessful Thursday.
Elected on Tuesday night, Selectmen Eric Eldridge and Katerina Kalabokis cast their first official votes to take Howe’s recommendation to change Whitman’s status.
Whitman, 36, was indicted two weeks ago by a federal grand jury on nine counts of felony firearms charges and more than $9 million in bank fraud. He pleaded not guilty.
Howe said that he was making the recommendation to change Whitman’s status because he is unable to perform the duties of a police officer. Whitman went on paid leave in August 2019 because Howe sought to protect the town from a lawsuit while the investigation was in progress.
A trial is many months or more away, and, in the meantime, Whitman is prohibited from carrying a firearm. That prohibition on carrying a firearm and the likely length of time were cited as the reasons he cannot perform the duties of a police officer.
The federal indictment is not the first problem Howe had with Whitman. Howe recommended firing Whitman in 2017 when it became clear that he was operating his Middlesex Road firearms business while on his shifts for the Police Department. But selectmen ignored that recommendation.
Whitman was prominently mentioned in an internal police report, which became public in May, involving the alleged misuse of police union funds.
Among the claims made against Whitman is he often picked up the tab for fellow officers when they were out for a meal or drinks. If one of them tried to pay his share or leave a tip, the report alleges that he took the cash and put the bill on his union debit card.
Whitman was the president of the patrol officers’ union. Lt. Shaun Wagner, who was the president of the superior officer’s union, was also mentioned prominently in the report, and Howe placed him on paid administrative leave.
Wagner was returned to active duty after an executive session, and at least one selectman, Hillari Wennerstrom, told The Sun “Poor judgment is not the town’s responsibility.”
Wennerstrom and Selectman Rick Reault are what remains of a four-member voting bloc that consistently overruled the police chief on personnel matters. One of their allies, Steve Nocco, did not seek re-election and the other, David Robson, was ousted in Tuesday’s election.
One of the key issues leading up to the election was the board’s refusal to support the police chief on personnel matters. When votes were required, the decisions were consistently 4-1 with Keohane casting that one vote of support for the chief.
The election results have already changed the dynamics of the board. Keohane, Kalabokis and Eldridge have all given support to letting professionals, such as the police chief and town administrator, do their jobs. Wennerstrom and Reault’s allies are gone.
With a unanimous vote on Whitman’s status in hand, Howe said, “I wish to acknowledge and thank the Tyngsboro Board of Selectmen for their support in taking decisive and appropriate steps in this matter.” Howe said.
was that the shop in Boylston?Getting in bed with Chinese investors on a firearms deal does not tend to work out well.
Remember Steve Holmquist of AARMCO fame.

A former Tyngsborough police officer who was attempting to open a multimillion-dollar shooting range is being forced to forfeit some of his guns to the federal government after he was sentenced for bank fraud and violations of the National Fire Arms Act, records show.
Daniel Whitman, 39, was sentenced to one year and one day in prison with two years of supervised release in March, according to U.S. Attorney Rachael Rollins’ office.
"On Wednesday, the government listed two of the guns as being forfeited. The guns included the Sig Sauer MCX bearing, which has an 11.5 inch barrel and a folding stock attached and the CMMG MK9 Short-barreled rifle with an 8-5/8 inch barrel and collapsible stock.Update:

Do i need to be the actual owner? Or can i just petition the .gov saying i want them?"On Wednesday, the government listed two of the guns as being forfeited. The items will be forfeited to the government unless a person, other than Whitman, petitions to claim them."
Not really. most fed paper gun crime sentences negotiated/set to just basically just long enough to ruin the average person’s life plus apply the felony/PP stain. One year.
I feel like same case with a different FFL that was not gang affiliated, like he was, would be doing more time.
