Hypothetically: test fire at home

I have been using a .22 cal bullet trap reinforced with a steel plate in my basement for about 40 years. For sure it stops .45 auto.

Ditto. My cousin made me a bullet trap out of 1/4 inch steel back in the 80's. I also have a cardboard box full of rags in front of it to guarantee no ricochets. Used to use 22lr, 9mm and 38spl but the hood has changed so much I shoot 22lr only.

Back in the old days, they'd just stick their heads and right hands out the basement window and let one fly to see if the load was right.

Them days is gone. Although with one shot in most suburban areas, who would know? LOL
