If Trump were to be elected, what actions could he take to support the Second Amendment (2A)?

Quite serious and honest question, why bother leaving the house? (Or mailing a ballot if that’s your sort of thing)

I said this in a different thread. If you stay home and don’t vote or vote third party you may as well vote for Biden. It equals the same thing. People may not like Trump but anyone on this forum can’t really want Biden to win again.

In reading some of the responses it appears some do want Biden to win again.

I don't care any longer. Republicans won't lift a finger to fix anything in this country. They have no plan and conservatives are easily distracted by wading in on culture war issues and come out looking like raging idiots. If republicans want my vote they have to earn it because honestly we're less than 20 years away from all having to go to the indoctrination camp and that's when conservatives finally realize they were duped by right wing grifters. So if it takes 2 terms of Biden followed by 2 terms of a future Newsom presidency for them to wake the hell up then so be it. At the very least I can rest easily on my pillow knowing I didn't contribute to the downfall of a nation.

Trump is not a Republican, he's MAGA. The Republican Party you speak of died quite some time ago.

So, people are going to vote for Trump not because he is good, but because Biden is not good?

We face many road blocks between now and November. Those who pine for a "Republican" to save us are but one of the many road blocks. There are several stages of grief but the final one is acceptance and moving forward. Once the grievers come to terms with the fact that the Republican Party died a long time ago and move on MAGA will get even stronger and we will all be better off for it.

I am guessing the Dems will come up with another candidate. I don't think they'll stick with Biden. They know they're going to lose if there is no alternative. Alternatively, they could put a lot of obstacles in Trump's path if he gets elected, such as impeachment, court battles, etc., to make him and the Republicans look very bad for the 2028 election. Trump promised a lot of things during his campaign, which I doubt he will deliver on all of them. For instance, how is he going to stop the war between Russia and Ukraine in one day? The Dems will take advantage of those statements he made.

I did grieve and joined the libertarian party. MAGA is just clever sloganeering nothing else. I get emails from his campaign and honestly it's worse than the NRA with their trinkets. Trump isn't going to go to war with the deep state if he's elected, he's going to want to be friends with them and he'll let them keep tossing J6ers under the bus.

Well, you joined another corpse party and will need to start the grieving process all over again. Boggles my mind that some think there really is a Libertarian Party, like chasing Big Foot I guess but in any event good luck with it.

No, it will be Biden at this point. The Dems have one of their plans in place with the no labels party. They are going to run a candidate as a 3rd party. I want you all to look at the staff for no labels carefully. But I really want you to look at the background of Chavis and tell me he is not a partisan hack.

No labels my azz, Trump is their target.

Not much has changed since 2020. The 2024 election will again pivot on a few thousand votes in several key and swing states. A few fake ballots sprinkled in here and there as well as a 3rd party candidate that takes votes from Trump and it will be done. It really isn't going to be hard for the Dems to do it.

I’ve always been someone who identifies as Libertarian and votes R when it mattered. So I feel her.

You are not going to win anyone over by basically calling them stupid.

Little bit of a license there in throwing out the stupid word no? Chasing Big Foot is not calling someone stupid. Big Foot chasers for the most part believe that the creature exists. The Libertarian Party is no more. It doesn't matter to me that some believe it lives on but my Big Foot analogy is a long way from calling someone stupid.

NES has been confidently predicting this for several years. I'm not holding my breath.

Remember when the received wisdom on NES was that Biden would step aside to let Kamala have 2.5 terms? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

The Dems are most likely stuck with Biden. I don't think they like that very much, but they don't have a Plan B. He screwed them by deciding to run for a second term, and they lack the fortitude to do anything about it.

What they’re doing about it is unprecedented lawfare, and a concerted attempt to get Nikki Haley as the R nominee.

Since neither have worked things are going to get real interesting.

You're right. I meant they lack the fortitude to do what they should have done: sat Joe down and told him to retire.

Oh believe me I'm going to have my popcorn ( [popcorn] ) ready especially with the unsustainable economy that we have now. I want to see a republican have the stones to put the government on a diet, but they won't because their cowards. They'll be busy shovelling pallets of cash to Ukraine and probably some place new because Raytheon put them in office. I'm pretty sure that Biden knows he's going to lose and he's going to hand over a great depression 2 to Trump and he'll be out of his league. With enough people who are late on credit cards and facing imminent eviction they are going to be screaming for a government bailout. That's when republicans become extremely vulnerable. There's some kind of black swan event on the horizon whether its bank failures or personal credit defaults. These 2 things are on a collision course right now. It will be the greatest wealth transfer in human history, all done by a bunch of socialists in key positions in the government with their hands on the detonator. It's going to get interesting when the phony stock market starts to crack and the 401ks start to evaporate. I just thank the stars that I got myself out of debt this year so I can watch it all happen with some fresh popcorn.

Dems voting for Haley are doing it because they hate Trump and they don't want Trump to run against Biden. They will not ever in a million years vote for a candidate Haley in a general election. It's just a sabotage attempt at the republican party. On the r/massachusetts reddit forum there was a giant thread from liberals who planned on getting a republican ballot just to vote for Haley. They just view Haley as being beatable in a match up with Biden, who should be laughably simple to beat having a potato for a brain.

Trusting that you understand that my Big Foot analogy was simple saying a belief that the Libertarian Party doesn't exist either. It was no way shape or form calling you stupid. I have hung out on many of these sites and have never called anyone stupid and nor would I ever do such a thing.

The Libertarian party is not the Gary Johnson/Bill Weld party anymore. There’s still some party turmoil but the Mises Caucus is actively reforming it.

But I do agree we all need to get behind Trump and cross our fingers that he learned his lesson.

Nope. I sure as hell don't want Biden. But I don't want Trump either. Neither one is a friend of the 2nd amendment community.

I will be writing in Ron DeSantis... At least of the election were today, that's what I would do.

Interesting choice considering Ron DeSantis wasn’t even the most 2A friendly candidate. That honor goes to Vivek Ramaswamy.

The bump stock ban was done specifically because Trump consulted the NRA about the issue and the NRA basically told him that they're toys, no real use, not many people have them, and to save the skins of Republican RINO congress critters had Trump take the fall.

Blame the NRA, not Trump. Actually, you can blame Trump to some extent, he trusted the NRA and they, just like the rest of the Swamp, burned him.

You're missing the point. It wasn't that bump stocks were banned. It was how they were banned.

The method used is the problem. Not the item banned.

If you take a look back over the years the amount of colossal effups the ATF has been involved in it's quite a brutal rampage.
