Here Ya Be:

VECTOR

OHIO RAPID FIRE

ARSENAL

AZEX

I forgot to mention Arsenal. Literally the nicest AK-47 variant I have laid eyes on. Steyr barrels, wicked accurate, reliable - buy a milled if you can - heavier but worth it...

Hey thats great.

Now, not to be a pain in the A, but is it possible to get a direct link or at least instructions on how to get to.....

That would be great too!

Damn forgot to put this in last post.

Why would a milled be better than stamped.

And.... hate to sound stupid, but what is the reciever.

Sorry.

-Chris

Really a milled is no better than stamped. Both can be made to very
good standards. A milled receiver is a little more "solid" (and heavier), but
really is only needed on a light machine gun, like an RPK.

The receiver is the legal "gun". On an AK it is the rectangle that the
stock, barrel and trigger group connect with.

Also, if you are sure you want a folder, consider that there are several
styles from different countries. Underfolders look really cool but
are not known to be very comfortable to shoot.

Read all of the faqs and check out the picture threads. That should get you
started.

I have to agree with that. I've got a Valmet side folder. It's not comfortable to shoot.

I agree with all of it - I hate folders in general, (side, bottom, what have you). The cool factor is there, the utility is there, but the shoot-ability leaves me wanting a solid stock. I'm even considering ditching the folder on my Uzi in favore of an IDF wood stock. But, to each his own.

Profane - I provided the link - it's Arsenal Inc. out of Las Vegas Nevada. And Firtee is right - it's a personal preference, but I just find milled AK's to be more robust and some say accurate. Arsenal AK's demand premium dollar, but I can tell you first hand - you get what you pay for.

not to burst your bubble profane but doesnt CT have an AWB? if so you wouldnt be allowed to buy any of those NIB folders

i think youd be limited to the preban norincos...no?

CT's AWB is dumb and weird, and possibly has some holes
in it somewhere. I know you cannot buy an AK chambered
in 7.62 x 39 there, but he can get a 5.45 or 5.56 AK. It's likely
more complicated than that as well...

Remember, this is the state that makes it illegal to have
select fire option on a machinegun. So within that
framework of lunacy, anything is possible. [laugh]

In that case.. I'd get an Arsenal. I have the SAM-7 and
it works great. I would suggest sticking to one of their
"no ban" sidefolders and skip the underfolder fetish.. a UF
looks cool but the ergos suck.

-Mikie

No matter how uncomfortable it is I want an underfolder. For storage and the thought of shooting it with the stock closed.

The gun I want is a 7.62x39mm
Underfolder
With compensater
Bayonet and lug
One that has a hold the bolt after last shot feature
Also furniture is style is not important

The Arsenal and other sites do not mention options on the gun. You would think if they were selling a gun, they would mention everything about it in the summary.

Thoughts?

-Chris

One that has a hold the bolt after last shot feature

AK type rifles do not have a BHO unless you use those weirdball Yugoslavian
mags with the followers that hold the bolt open... they are of little practical
use as the bolt slams closed when you remove the empty mag... imo, a pain
in the ass. The rifle was not designed with that feature in mind.

-Mike

No offense, but I think you're asking a lot out of an AK. Arsenal sels plenty of them, because they are among the best, (no flames, I said among). I am aware of zero AK's with a bolt hold open feature built into the rifle. Did the best I could and gave you the best links to some of the best weapons...Good luck with your search.....
