I just decided to show up and join a club about 5 minutes away from my house, the Leominster Sportsmen's Association. I 'crashed' their member's meeting tonight. What a great bunch of guys. I met the President of the club after only being there 5 minutes and he bought me a beer and spent quite a bit of time with me finding out my interests and explaining a bit about the club.
I just wanted to shout out to all the new shooter's out there: Don't be afraid to reach out to veteran sportsmen. I've found that they are very receptive to questions and are incredibly eager to accept more good people into their circle.
I realize that it's not a big deal to join a gun club, but for me it was a big step in exploring a lifelong curiosity that could very well become a passion for the rest of my years.
