Morons. They show a commercially made AR-15 receiver and upper, and then go off on the plastic accessories as "using the printer to make guns". All of the stations are doing this today. The police officer quoted is rational, but the media loons ran right off the rails with this.

Nothing says "armchair commando" better than mismatched ammunition, a "don't tread on me" patch and a Gerber Mark 1!

In the Channel 5 article:

"Now, if you're an average citizen that has the authority and ability to have firearms, like most citizens do, it's not a big deal. It's prohibited persons that are creating firearms because they're not allowed to lawfully have them that is obviously our bigger concern," said Kingston police Det. Michael Skowyra.

At least if they pass the new laws nobody will be doing this type of thing.

Photos PD takes on these “busts” will never not make me laugh.
well, it would be funny if al of that would not result in people getting dragged into the legal proceedings.
for criminal shitheads it means nothing, of course, but anyone who is a law abiding innocent person to be guilty of a suspicion to be guilty is enough today to lose the whole livelihood, house and family. so it is anything but funny to see them doing this shit.

Of course.

Im referring to the perfectly arranged accessories for maximum Karen effect.

That photo is missing the Police Department logo placed prominently for all to see.

That seems to be the standard way of patting themselves on the back.

How'd they get a search warrant?
Apparently, the guy's a Prohibited Person based upon prior actions and is also stupid enough to appear in a video holding a handgun he supposedly assembled. That handgun was not found as part of the arrest.

From the Channel 5 story: "Skowyra said Kingston police launched their investigation after someone called in a tip and then shared a video that appeared to show Santos holding a pistol that may have been made with a 3D printer."
