its the scope mount holes that piss me off everything else is acualy fairly well done if the front sight was more of the origional style and it didint have holes drilled all over it might be pretty nice

Without knowing where it came from I think it's a bit irrational to assume that someone took a perfectly good working garand and did that to it. For all we know in its previous life it was a trash can special at a gun shop, that some guy used some junk parts in his basement to turn into a functioning rifle where there wasn't one before.

Yeah, it's his gun, and he do want he wants with it. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I can understand if it was done back in the day when M1s were cheap and plentiful, but all this still does not make it right!
