Looking for ammo storage ideas

I posted above the new ones are thin junk and won't hold a ton of ammo without the slides binding. YMMV
Also a great point. when we moved my mom out of her house recently it included a 40 year old 2 drawer file cabinet. It's only 2 1/2 ft high and it weighs 50 lbs plus. A new one is barely half of that.

You can also pick up fire rated file cabinets often for free. These things are absolute beasts and could legitimately serve as security cabinets.

I grabbed a stack-on gun cabinet off fb marketplace for $50 delivered and then put my own shelves in. Only came with 1 key but the seller mailed me the 2nd one when she found it. It serves the purpose for now till we need another one. IMG_3954.jpeg

It depends. There is factory boxes with each firearm and all the speed loaders, speed strips, magazines, some holsters that have loops, cuffs, etc are loaded. I don't use safes as I build things for the firearms like furniture or wall panels, etc and I leave space for ammunition. All my hard cases (about 10 or so) have a brick of.22's as I always take a 22 along. There's also the end of my reloading bench for my reach in and grab for the range pile and I use it to rotate the older boxes into and replace as needed in the other places with new stock.

These are the cabinets on one end of my bench, for obvious reasons I'd rather not post the others:

Another one followed me home from work yesterday.
The stacked cans are getting out of control. The 2 drawers fit under my current reloading bench.

I MA I use an old metal cabinet that locks....that is going to stay in the garage for the new owner.

In FL...right now.......I have about 3K rounds in ammo boxes in the 3rd bedroom (which will be my gun/reloading room).

Stacked in the closet. And pretty much will be my storage as there is no law to lock anything.
