I can only say I bought a wilson combat match barrel
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/49...eight-contour-16-1-in-9-twist-stainless-steel
it shot about as well as my green mountain standard "mil spec" barrel. which even with reloads wasnot that great vs my RRA NM A2 which will shoot just under 1" with almost any decent bullet and load....now if I only could shoot to sub 4moa skills!
Every build so far I try to up the barrel quality.... mosr resent is a CLE with CLE chamber
This is the barrel I was looking at: "Wilson Combat Match Grade Barrel, 556NATO, 18" Fluted Barrel, 1:8 Twist, Fits AR Rifles, Stainless Finish TR-556RC18F-18"
I agree that WO or CLE are probably better options and their prices aren't prohibitive. The shot groups from WO appear to be what I am looking for.
The bottom line is that I don't want the rifle to be the limiting factor in my shooting. If it shoots 1-2 MOA @ 100m, then how am I reliably going to put it through a 2" eyebox at 200m? I want 1/2 MOA and I am fully aware how difficult that is to attain.
