M1 Garand Storage

Those of you that own M1s, do you store the gun with the bolt open or closed? Just wondering if it matters or not, if storing it with the bolt open could put excessive wear on the spring over time.

I don't know that it makes much difference, but I leave mine closed. As far as spring wear, I think it's like magazines - it's not the static compression that wears them out, but frequent use.

Closed like all my semi autos are stored.
