Magazine Plugs

I wouldn't be certain about interpreting the "if those parts" to mean you must have multiple standards capacity parts.
Standard cap body with a 10rnd spring and follower plus a roll of duct tape is a combination of parts that will accept more than 10 rounds and very likely feed, even poorly, more than 10.

If I ever got yanked into court for this, my simple defense would be,

Are you really expecting/suspecting me in the middle of a gun fight to disassemble, remove the mag block, reassemble and then manually reload ammunition into the magazine then continue to be in said gun fight without changing to my other blocked magazine and or just reloading my 10 round blocked magazine?

I don't think the folks who passed this law, and think it's a good idea, had your scenario in mind. The letter of the law certainly doesn't. The point of a non-permanent conversion means that you could convert back to a capacity higher than 10 rounds, then go do bad guy stuff.

Epoxy or rivet is the usual advice. If it's removable without drilling, it's not kosher

From the police reports I’ve read in Boston, most of the Thugs are carrying Glock 26s with switches installed and 33 round giggle sticks… 🤦🏻‍♂️

The law literally uses the word permanent.

You do realize I quoted the exact text of the law in this thread, right? The law literally uses the words “or that can be readily converted”.

“(i) a fixed or detachable magazine, belt, drum, feed strip or similar device that has a capacity of, or that can be readily converted to accept, more than 10 rounds of ammunition…”

Yes, the law says the definition does not apply to permanently altered magazines. But that doesn’t mean “readily converted” applies to ALL non-permanent conversions.

”… provided, however, that “large capacity feeding device” shall not include: (a) any device that has been permanently altered so that it cannot accommodate more than 10 rounds of ammunition”

Essentially, if it is permanently altered, the definition doesn’t apply and you don’t need to worry. But if not permanently altered, you then have to consider if it is readily converted.

OK, thanks, new mags it is then!
Expoying or riveting these things in place would pretty much make it impossible to dissemble the mag in the future for cleaning, etc.

Epoxy the block to the spring, not the baseplate.
Then all you need is a new spring to go back to std cap.
