Maine vs New Hampshire vs Pennsylvania [hypothetical move]

Step 1 is ditching manufactured concepts like “assault weapon”. It’s just an SBR with a can. And once one owns a few of them the allure wears off. i speak from experience as I’m now back into RC kits since the suppressor boner went limp after ~2 years. but it was a fine boner for those few years!

I understand the sentiment here and somewhat agree about the allure rubbing off.

But if you keep rubbing with new silencers and hosts then you’ll always be rock hard.

OP, NH is a purple state and could go anywhere depending on the year. We’re up for a new Governor and Sununu isn’t running again. He has held new gun laws at bay so who know what will happen. But we do have laws that somewhat protect us from any new legislation on federal levels as well at local ordinances.

Can’t say much about ME as I don’t know much other than I love visiting.

PA as a state is ruled by Philly just like all of MA is ruled by Boston.

Please expand on this...

For comparison, let's use the complete shitshow that is MA gun laws.

Look at my location. I don't care about MA gun laws..

FL has no true constitutional carry-just permitless concealed carry for handguns, waiting periods to purchase, duty to inform, codified gun free zones, and more. None of that idiocy exists in NH.

FL also has duplicates of many fed firearms laws on their books-NH also does not have this.

Quit seeing it from a MA taxpayer lens and see it from having lived around the country lens.

Luckily for FL, they have a very aggressive GOA rep. If he stays on, sometime in our lifetime FL may become mostly free.

Based on what I’ve read, FL doesn’t have a a duty to inform, unless that changed in the last few years. Didn’t know about the waiting periods though. That is stupid.

Since @mav hasn't responded yet, here's the laundry list of places statutorily prohibited in FL from handgunlaw.us website.

Places Off-Limits Even With a Permit/License

3. Any detention facility, prison, or jail;
4. Any Courthouse
5. Any courtroom, except that nothing in this section precludes a judge from carrying a concealed
weapon or concealed firearm or determining who will carry a concealed weapon or concealed firearm in
his or her courtroom;
6. Any polling place;
7. Any meeting of the governing body of a county, public school district, municipality, or special district;
8. Any meeting of the Legislature or a committee thereof;

(See Note in Parking Lot Storage Section)

Sounds like a MA politician is running your club, that's their MO.

Our club has a two month vote on any major changes like that to stop shit like that from happening. I suggest if you care you propose the same thing at the next meeting. Or quit and let them know they are losing a younger member because of their bullshit.
WSA is similar. Rules changes published in newsletter and on website 30 days or more before vote by the membership.

No carrying in a polling place, meeting, or restaurant(because all my restaurants serve alcohol) is nuts. The rest is debatable, but also likely nuts. NH does have the courthouse no carry law in common with FL.

My understanding of the no carrying in restaurants is it is actually no carrying in bars and places that serve alcohol. However, if the place primarily serves food and alcohol also happens to be served, like the majority of restaurants, then it is allowed.

Signage isn’t binding either in FL as far as I know.

Again, I’m not an expert at FL gun laws, I’m just interested in moving there for the warmer climate, politics, and no income tax.

Those of you behind the iron curtain here in New England if you could move to a free state that's still relatively close to New England [extended family, etc], would you pick ME, NH or PA and why? Always wondered what it's like owning a free state two-stamp *assault weapon* like this.

How much money are you bringing with you

Places off-limits for carry by NH statute:

1) Courtrooms

That's it, that's the entire list.
Lol, the list is a bit disingenuous, like a NH prison would let you walk in with a gun. Just because NH doesn't have it on the "official" statute list, doesn't mean it's allowed.

Not at all.

Completely different from a place or business preventing it than it being codified in state law.

Dont think about gun bullshit, that's all easily ignored, it's the things you cannot control that directly influence quality of life. If you want your vote to matter, for example, NH is best. PA is teetering on the problem of big dump cities running the politics, ME is already light socialist but somewhat predictable.
Pa is a problem... they have a separate school tax...

Has?? It’s been that way for a very long time.
This...for at least 15 years now at least...if not more.

We've abandoned Southern ME beaches for Hilton Head about 5 years ago......if you get a good flight price....your paying the same money, and your staying ON the beach, with hot tub, bar and pool, chairs, bikes, free showers, free parking, picnic tables and pavilions for free, no major highway traffic.

Maine....fxck that........ Staying at some shit joint off RT 1 for 3X the price it should be, where you have to walk a mile to the beach, and get zero amenities on the beach, and the local liberal scum money grub you to park for 30 a day or more.

Added bonuses are HH can go nearly 8 months out of the year, rather than just 2. I can visit my daughter as well while I'm down there.

People are way nicer. 90% of people are not Boston Lib fags, or Lowell skids or Canadian sausage smugglers. Maine people hate everything about MA tourists except for the green money they get from them.

A prison won't let you just walk in, period. You have no right to enter there unless you meet their criteria--none of which are set in law.
